'60s Singer Petula Clark Is Nearly A Centenarian: What She Looks Like Now

Petula Clark has enjoyed a career in entertainment for over eight decades. While many recognize the British performer as the voice behind iconic 1960s songs like "Downtown" and "I Know a Place," Clark got her start as a child singer and radio star during World War II. Throughout her teenage years in the '40s, Clark starred in many films and then relaunched her music career with her first chart-topping hit in 1954. As a young singer, Clark often rocked one of the hair trends from the '60s you may have forgotten about: the teased-up beehive. Today, she's far more modern.

Now, having turned 93 in November 2025, Clark continues to stay active in the entertainment world — she certainly doesn't plan on withdrawing from the public eye anytime soon. The songstress received the Variety Club Gold Heart Legacy Award during the organization's Showbusiness Awards in October 2025. Posing with her award, the nonagenarian looked effortlessly chic in a rhinestone-covered black dress. The "Don't Sleep in the Subway" crooner rocked a gray shag haircut, with her natural curls on display. Clark is aging like fine wine, and current pictures like this prove it without a doubt.

Petula Clark has been forthcoming about her approach to beauty and wellness as a mature woman. Back in her mid-70s, Clark spoke with The Guardian about self-image. Just as Joan Collins credits her stunning appearance in her 90s to a straightforward life philosophy, Clark explained that she keeps her beauty routine streamlined and free of cosmetic surgery in her later years. "On a good day, I see good skin, good bones and nice, blue-grey eyes," she wrote for the outlet. "On a bad day, I see a few more wrinkles and that I am aging — but not too badly. I have considered surgery, and I did have a little done in the '60s. I had an accident when I was a kid and damaged my eyelid. I went to have something done about it ... I don't think there's much point in more plastic surgery." 

During a 2017 interview with Daily Mail, Clark doubled down on her less-is-more beauty philosophy. "I've never had anything else done and I never will," Clark said in reference to her past eyelid surgery (via Toronto.com). "You see so many freaky things now. You see some awful things. Women can look terrible! The business is totally different. The facade has become very, very important. I never got involved in that side of things and I was never a beauty." 

Though Clark may not regard herself as one of the great beauties of the 1960s, we disagree. Given her fabulous hair and trendy style during the decade, she can certainly teach today's stars a thing or two about the 1960s-inspired fashion trends making a comeback.
