The Absolutely Gorgeous Transformation Of Tiger Woods' Daughter Sam

Growing up in the spotlight can't be easy, but the daughter of golfer Tiger Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, handles it with grace. Sam Woods, born to Woods and Nordegren in June of 2007, was introduced to golf at just a few weeks old, when her famous father tried to hand her a golf club. Though "she couldn't quite hold it" as a newborn, Sam has definitely inherited Tiger's athleticism, proving her talent while playing both soccer and track and field for The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. 

In 2025, Sam helped both her track and field team and her soccer team get state championships, confirming she inherited her father's talent for sports. That same year, Sam graduated high school and chose to follow Tiger's academic path by heading to Stanford University to pursue a degree in psychology and biology. At just six months old, Sam Woods made her first appearance at one of Tiger Woods' tournaments, which he said in a 2015 press conference was a special experience for him. "Sam, actually she was there at the U.S. Open in 2008, but doesn't remember it. It's nice to be able to share these things with my family, and it just means the world to me." In 2009, they made a public appearance at a Stanford football game, where the world got to see that Sam had grown plenty throughout the last year and was now a toddler.

But life on the sidelines wasn't always the easiest path for Sam to walk. In fact, Tiger told Today in 2024 that Sam grew up with a negative feeling toward golf, since the sport "took Daddy away from her." As a result, Tiger worked hard to stay close with Sam. "So we developed our own relationship, our own rapport, outside of golf," he explained. Even after Nordegren and Tiger divorced in 2010, the former spouses remained committed to co-parenting both Sam and her brother, Charlie, born in 2009. We love the fact that Elin Nordegren was never the same after her divorce from Tiger Woods (in the best way).

Sam Woods looked adorable in her signature green Masters cap, white jumpsuit, and matching braids while watching a contest leading up to the start of the 2015 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Despite constantly watching their dad on the golf course, Sam and her brother Charlie share a passion for soccer. Tiger Woods admits to being their biggest fans on the sidelines, too. "I get such a big kick out of watching them compete and play," Tiger told GOLF in 2018. And that he does — his proud papa status was captured in this viral video showing Tiger celebrating Sam's soccer state championship win with other parents in 2025.

According to the outlet, Tiger said he doesn't care what sport they choose, "as long as they have a good time playing sports." It appears that both Sam and Charlie grew up doing just that, adding more sports to their resume with track and field (for Sam) and golf (for Charlie).

But their looks aren't the only thing they share — Sam was also named after her dad, whose full name is Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods. "My father had always called me Sam since the day I was born. He rarely ever called me Tiger," he explained in a 2007 press conference. "I would ask him, 'Why don't you ever call me Tiger?' He says, 'Well, you look more like a Sam.'" Since Sam was born the day after Father's Day, Tiger said the name "just happened to fit." 

Though Tiger's dad, Earl, passed away in 2006 at the age of 74, Tiger said he falls back on the advice he gave him when parenting both Sam and Charlie. "It's amazing how many things I say to my kids that came from him. I'm so happy he was a part of my life and that I get to pass on some of stuff that is in me (because) of him," Tiger told Today in 2024.

At the age of 16, Sam Woods found her way back to the golf course to support her dad as his caddie at the PNC Championship in 2023 in Orlando, Florida. Sam showed off her sporty style with a middle part and slick-back ponytail, a hairstyle perfect for any occasion, paired with classic gold hoops. 

In a 2021 interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiger Woods opened up about how parenting Sam has changed him, saying that Sam "has taught me how to be more patient." (via People). Even as a teenager, Tiger said Sam was "Daddy's little girl." Tiger also told Pinkett Smith that he doesn't "ever want [Sam] to leave home." Sam was also feeling all the feels when she thought about leaving high school and moving on from her sports teams. When speaking with the Palm Beach Post in 2025, she said, "This season is definitely bittersweet because I've been playing with these girls since forever. It's going to be really hard hanging up my cleats for the last time."

It was Sam Woods' turn to wear Tiger Woods' signature red while introducing him at his World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida in 2022. With her hair in a sleek middle part and down in loose waves, Sam was a beautiful, grown-up vision in red. 

Not only did she appear radiant and mature, but her speech was also a reflection of the well-spoken and confident young woman she has become. Her emotional speech even brought tears to her dad's eyes when she detailed how she and her family felt after Tiger's 2021 car accident. "We didn't know if you'd come home with two legs or not. Now not only are you about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you're standing here on your own two feet. This is why you deserve this, because you're a fighter," Sam said then (via NBC Sports).
