If you want to go down nostalgia road, "The Facts of Life" will take you right back to the '80s. The hit sitcom debuted in 1979 and went on for nine seasons, making it one of the top shows of the time. With the focus on a group of girls in a New York boarding school, the topics included boy crushes and sometimes even serious topics like losing one's virginity. Over the seasons, the main characters, Blair, Jo, Natalie, and Tootie, went through high school and then off to college, so fans watched them grow from teens to adults. Now, four decades after the show ended, you'll be surprised to see how much the actors have changed.

Some of the cast, like Kim Fields and Mindy Cohn, have stayed active in the entertainment world. Bravo fans may remember Fields' very brief foray into reality television when she joined "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" in Season 8, and she looked just as gorgeous as ever. Others, like Nancy McKeon, have largely stepped out of the spotlight, but she's still recognizable as the adult version of the spunky Jo. Here's what the main actors of "The Facts of Life" look like almost 40 years after the show's debut.

Kim Fields let go of Tootie's signature pigtails and now rocks gorgeous waves

Kim Fields played the young, gossipy Tootie on "The Facts of Life" starting at just 9 years old, and as the youngest of the cast, her hairstyle reflected it. During the first two seasons, Fields was makeup-free and wore her hair in two small pigtails with curled-under bangs, which is a hairstyle that makes your face look rounder. Perhaps that's what contributed to Tootie's youthful image, but as the seasons went on, she developed a more mature look, such as the Dorothy Hamill haircut she sported in the following years. While looking back on her Tootie hair days, Fields shared with Cocoa Butter in 2023, "Grown-ass women will come up to me and say that they wore their hair like mine. That was before the idea of influencers and all of that was a thing. You know, you don't realize the impact that you have."

Now, Fields has her hair in a more current 'do, with soft waves hitting just below her shoulders. Having turned 57 years old in 2026, she looks so youthful, with clear skin that's flawless even makeup-free. Fans can see her on Instagram Live on Sundays, where she encourages folks to take a pause and take deep, cleansing breaths. During these sessions, Fields usually shows up with a bare face and her natural hair down, looking like an earthy goddess. There's still a bit of that cheeky Tootie in there, however, especially when she shows off her captivating toothy grin.

Nancy McKeon's striking eyes are just as gorgeous

Nancy McKeon literally rolled into Season 2 of "The Facts of Life" on a motorcycle, with a tough attitude and a wardrobe to match. Her character, Jo, was a street-smart teen who couldn't care less about having the perfect hair or wearing makeup. It turns out that it was all acting, and she shared in a 2025 interview with New York Living about playing the part of a tomboy and riding a motorcycle, "I wasn't really. I know nothing about them. Don't ride 'em. If you ever really watch closely, I was kind of clinking around." During her appearance, McKeon's green eyes were just as vibrant as they were 45 years ago, which stood out against her raven-black hair. Instead of the hot chocolate brunette hair and wispy baby bangs she had as Jo, the mom of two had her shoulder-length strands dyed dark and framed her face with long curtain bangs.

Although McKeon admitted to not being anything like Jo, she does share her former character's no-nonsense style. In an Instagram post shared in November 2024, the actor was seen in a basic black jacket and loose-fitting jeans accessorized with a brown belt. She did have on some pretty makeup, however, with a bit of eyeliner bringing out her stunning eyes. McKeon has come a long way since playing Jo and may have left her television days behind in favor of theater, but fans will never forget her iconic role on "The Facts of Life."

Mindy Cohn looks vibrant in her 60s

"The Facts of Life" wouldn't have been complete without the bubbly, infectious Natalie, played by Mindy Cohn. Her witty one-liners and quirky fashion sense brought comedic relief to an already funny show, and it's clear Cohn still marches to the beat of her own drum. The "Palm Royale" star has been done with dyeing her hair for some time now and is sporting a bob style that perfectly flatters gray hair. She's also not afraid to show off her makeup-free face, and in an Instagram post shared in May 2026, she announced. "This is 60!" Cohn looked relaxed and happy, sitting outside and soaking in the sun, with her blunt bob and baby bangs highlighting her silver strands. A pair of tinted glasses covered her eyes, but you could clearly see Cohn's confidence in her natural beauty.

While many dread entering a new era, Cohn told Vanity Fair in 2024, "I wasn't one of those girls that peaked in high school. To be quite frank with you, I think I'm peaking now. I think I'm going to look the most adorable in my 60s." She continued, "And I think girls like me, who have that life where you really aren't your most attractive in your 20s and 30s [and] actually start to really kind of look good in your 50s and 60s, have it so much easier." As for any future plastic surgery plans, Cohn is all about going the natural route. "We want to look the age we are," she stated.

Lisa Whelchel still has the most amazing hair

If there ever was a perfect role for Lisa Whelchel, it was the part of Blair on "The Facts of Life." She embodied the rich, snobby teen perfectly and had the most luxurious hair with endless body that seemed to get bigger with each season. Her blond mane was always so perfectly coiffed and totally reflected her wealthy status. While Whelchel is more down-to-earth, she still has a thick head of blond locks, although it's not as voluminous as her '80s looks.

In February 2026, the mom of three shared an Instagram post announcing, "I got my hair cut today. I figured something new deserves a new 'do, and here's the something new I've been teasing you about. It's called 'Throw Out the Bathwater.' It's on Substack. I'm sharing stories I've never told before." The 63-year-old looked simply stunning makeup-free, with Whelchel's long layers framing her striking bone structure. The color was a bit lighter than in her younger years, but the buttery shade brought out Whelchel's cool skin tone. We think Blair would have totally approved of this modern style.
