Susan Lucci always knows how to make an entrance. The "All My Children" star simply stunned at the US Open on September 7, wearing a white dress and the most gorgeous red lipstick that instantly brightened her face. As a makeup artist, I know how hard it is to determine which shade of red lipstick is perfect for your skin tone, but it looks like the Emmy winner nailed it. The color was on the cool side, with hints of tomato and just enough shine to make her pout gleam.

While it's important to match your red lipstick according to your undertone, the color Lucci had on looks like it would be flattering on most folks, especially on older women. I love creating the perfect '90s wine-red lip, but it can look a bit heavy on those in their golden years. The "Devious Maids" actor chose a light shade that made her look youthful and lifted her features instead of bringing them down. Additionally, the slight sheen gave her lips added volume without appearing overly glossy, which can cause the color to bleed. Although it's unclear what brand she used, I recommend looking for a lipstick that leans more pink, rather than true red. Be sure that the formula is creamy — not matte, which looks too dry on older faces. Hopefully, Lucci will share some deets on this color. Years ago, she dropped one of her faves for fans who want to recreate her look.

Susan Lucci rocks so many different shades of red lipstick

Susan Lucci is proof that there's more than one shade of lipstick that's right for you. In July 2019, she shared an Instagram pic of her applying a vibrant color in the mirror and wrote, "National Lipstick Day! You didn't think I would miss that, did you? Love this super creamy Cle de Peau shade #13 Peach Stone." Although the name indicates that it's a warm peachy hue, the lipstick is actually pretty bright with lots of warm red notes. Not one for gatekeeping, when a fan asked Lucci what her go-to lip liner and lipstick was, she answered, "Thank you for asking — my lipliner is the same day or night — Morocco by Nars. My go-to [for] day is Clinique's Papaya Pop or Cle de Peau #13 Peach Stone. Nights it's Chanel's Arthur — but sometimes mixed with other shades, depending on what looks best that night."

Lucci stunned yet again as one of the many celeb women over 50 who completely stole the show at the Metropolitan Opera's 2026 Opening Gala. She arrived in a red sequined gown and matching fur stole, with a subtle smoky eye. This time, the mom of two opted for a muted raspberry lipstick, which was perfect as it didn't fight with her 'fit. Balance is always key when pairing red lips with a same-colored gown, and Lucci made sure to highlight her pout while letting her amazing ensemble take the spotlight.
