Awards show red carpets may be the perfect place to scout the latest formal fashion trends, but they're also major predictors of jewelry fads. We can tell a lot about what accessories might be coming back into fashion based on what ice the A-listers adorn themselves with, and at the 2026 Emmys, a few jewelry trends were abundantly clear. Being a distinguished and prestigious event, the Emmys naturally attracted high-end jewelry style made up of diamonds, other rare gems, and curated pieces from the world's top jewelry houses.

Necklaces are often the first accessory to catch the eye, and this year's show was full of loud, bold, and over-the-top designs that brought all the drama and then some. The common thread through all of 2026's jewelry trends is clear: Quiet luxury is out, and celebrities have taken note. TV stars like Nicole Kidman, Sarah Pidgeon, and Lisa Rinna had all eyes (and camera lenses) on them as they graced the carpet in eye-catching pieces that made it their business to be unforgettable. The Emmys also saw the return of a few more vintage-coded jewelry trends that are perfect for older women in 2026, from classic earring styles to long-adored gemstones straight from the sea.

Many of the biggest stars on the red carpet demonstrated their style expertise by flawlessly rocking more than one of these jewelry trends at once. With these pieces showing up on multiple famous faces — and sometimes layered with each other to create the ultimate style moment— there's no doubt that they're officially the trendiest high-end jewelry movements of the year.

This is the year of the statement red-carpet necklace

Particularly with gowns that featured standout necklines, many celebs attended the 2026 Emmys bare-necked. However, many of the stars who did don necklaces went loud and proud with statement jewelry from some of the world's top designers. For one, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum Lisa Rinna left a huge impression with an eye-catching blue sapphire necklace from Jacob & Co, which was over 42 carats. Her dress was maximalist too, but her stunning neck bling was the star of the show.

Then, there was Hannah Einbinder, who wore a bold Ana Khouri collar that featured a large teardrop diamond pendant fastened to a gold band. This paired nicely with her simple Calvin Klein crop and maxi skirt. Meanwhile, Australian actor Sarah Snook went with a standout netted piece from Cartier, which came with matching bracelets worn on both hands, as well as matching earrings. Snook teamed her memorable accessories with a classic, understated cream gown from Balenciaga.

"Love Story" star Sarah Pidgeon interpreted the statement necklace brief a little differently, going for a diamond sautoir necklace from Chanel. Her lavender silk slip, also from the French fashion house, had embellished straps and two beaded chains attached to the bust, which worked really well when layered with the lustrous Chanel necklace. Overall, these stars know just how to style a statement necklace to make it the focus of the outfit, even if the outfit in question is a resplendent red-carpet masterpiece.

Diamond earrings were also abundant at the Emmys

Diamond earrings are a girl's best best friend, and this classic look will never go totally out of style. In fact, it was out in full force at the 2026 Emmys, with several stars rocking both statement and simple diamonds in their ears. The aforementioned Lisa Rinna paired her dazzling sapphire necklace with a pair of toned-down diamond studs, while Selena Gomez went with diamond earrings that were a little more substantial. The "Only Murders in the Building" actor omitted a necklace altogether and let her breathtaking Tiffany & Co. earrings do the talking, as they had more than 2 carats of diamonds with 18-karat yellow gold accents. And gold was definitely the style du jour for Gomez, who looked radiant in a metallic gilded strapless dress by Louis Vuitton.

Keeping with the theme, Nicole Kidman complemented her feather-trimmed Chanel dress with subdued diamond earrings from the French brand. With her hair in a loose bun, fans could barely get a glimpse of the diamonds, but they were the perfect pairing for her statement dress, which featured a figure-hugging silhouette and a thigh slit.

Emmy Rossum took her earrings in more of a vintage direction, wearing mine-cut diamonds from Fred Leighton. While antique accessories might have otherwise been out of place on a 2026 red carpet, Rossum pulled them off by wearing them with a vintage lace corset-style dress from Julie de Libran that pulled her whole look together. Meanwhile, Carrie Coon joined the diamond party with her emerald-cut diamond earrings from De Beers London. These were quite simple so they didn't overshadow her statement necklace from the same brand, which sat over her high-collar Maison Margiela dress. So, the best earring style for your face shape? Diamonds, baby! Any silhouette goes as long as there's sparkle.

Pearls, pearls, and more pearls dazzled at the 2026 Emmys

Pearls have always had a place at the forefront of jewelry trends, but they were particularly prominent on the Emmys red carpet. Whimsical, romantic, and ageless, pearls can appear on almost any piece of jewelry, whether it's drop earrings or a dazzling necklace. This year, we saw them on Zendaya, who wore a show-stopping embellished blush gown from Prada with diamond and pearl earrings from Mikimoto's "Petals" line. The White South Sea cultured pearls were also surrounded by 4.4 carats of diamonds, so the "Euphoria" star nailed two trends at once with this glimmering look.

Ayo Edebiri of "The Bear" also followed suit with Mikimoto, donning White South Sea cultured drop earrings featuring pearls and diamonds, complemented with a gorgeous pearl ring on the middle finger of her right hand. The star practiced color-blocking with a blue-and-orange dress from Chanel, and pearls were the perfect addition. Pairing them with a fun look is a modern, fool-proof way to pull trendy pearls into your wardrobe, even if you're not gracing a red carpet in high-end jewels.

Emmy winner Jean Smart, who took home the statuette for the best lead actress in a comedy for her work on "Hacks," rode the pearl wave with shimmering earrings that were also set with white gold and diamonds. They came from Saidian Vintage Jewels, and she complemented her ear bling with a white gold ring from Rahaminov Diamonds featuring 8 carats of diamonds. The high-end jewels worked beautifully with her metallic V-neck gown.

The 2026 Emmys were all about colorful jewelry, too

Silvers, golds, and pearls might have dominated the red carpet at the 2026 Emmys, but there was plenty of colorful jewelry, too. Several stars brought a rainbow to the event with their vibrant jewels, including Shailene Woodley, who dropped jaws in a Howl necklace. Her Balenciaga 'fit was already avant garde, featuring beaded gold pants, a plunging blue top, and cherry leather elbow-length gloves, but the real star of the show was the multi-colored collar necklace, which was adorned with green, blue, pink, orange, yellow, and purple gemstones. Thankfully, the "Divergent" star wore her hair in a sleek low ponytail so the necklace was given the full exposure it deserved.

Next, there was Florence Pugh, who donned a romantic, pastel-purple gown from Vivienne Westwood and accessorized with pink-and-green neck bling from Bulgari. The necklace was made with 18-karat pink gold and contained five pink morganites, which only added more beautiful carats to her look. The necklace also featured four green tourmalines, which made up nearly 30 carats, not to mention the 16 carats of diamonds. Not too shabby!

While these two were the most unforgettable colorful jewels from the night, plenty of other stars hopped on the bandwagon and looked divine while doing so. "The Pitt" actor Supriya Ganesh nailed a frosted blue look by pairing her pale dress with a blue collar necklace. Then, Tiffany Haddish stole the show in a lime-green number, opting for a Boucheron multi-colored beaded earring in her left ear that also had a statement bird perched at the top of her ear.

Chokers shone at the Emmys like it was 2016 again

At the start of 2026, many people rang in the new year by posting throwback pictures from 2016, and it looks like that energy lasted all the way to the Emmys. A few A-listers turned up to the red carpet wearing high-end chokers, which is the ultimate nod to 2016. While the older version of the trend was much more toned down and often featured leather or velvet, the Emmys version frequently featured gold and silver. Take Grace Gummer, who looked the part of a TV star in a Boucheron choker that was adorned with diamonds, which she teamed with her strapless Christian Dior dress.

"Crazy Rich Asians" actor Awkwafina also hopped on the trend — or, rather, two trends at once — with a maximalist statement choker that looked like body armor. The standout metallic piece covered most of her neck and might have been too much if she'd worn anything other than a simple black dress from Jenny Packham with capped sleeves and a relaxed loose updo. Meanwhile, Emmy nominee Janelle James accessorized with her choker by doing a little layering, pairing it with two diamond collar necklaces. Her pixie cut and one-shoulder, champagne-toned gown were the perfect accompaniments for the neck bling, allowing it to take center stage.

Then, we have actor and singer Denée Benton, who strutted down the carpet in a black, midriff-baring 'fit by Cong Tri, which was complemented with a layered glittering choker. The "Gilded Age" star wore two matching necklaces — the choker higher on the neck and the collar necklace just beneath it. Since the necklaces made such a statement, she only needed a few silver rings and understated earrings to finish this on-trend look.
