Remember Ginger From Gilligan's Island? What Tina Louise Looked Like Decades After The Show
Tina Louise is best known for playing the red-headed bombshell in the iconic '60s TV series "Gilligan's Island," bringing to life the glamorous, Marilyn Monroe-inspired character Ginger Grant. Louise starred on the show for its entire run from 1964 to 1967, using her charm and charisma — plus her green eyes and fiery red hair — to make viewers fall in love with her. Like many of the most iconic beauty looks from TV and movie characters of all time, Ginger's wardrobe on the show featured some unforgettable outfits, like her famous leopard print swimsuit and her dazzling orange crystal gown. In the years that have passed since the show first aired, Louise hasn't let her breathtaking beauty (or her red hair dye) fade over time. The last surviving member of the original "Gilligan's Island" cast, Louise marked her 92nd birthday in February 2026, with her youthful energy and radiant glow continuing to live on.
The photo above was taken of Louise as she made a rare red-carpet appearance at a New York City event in October 2022. Nearly 60 years after playing Ginger, Louise maintained her iconic red hair color, though she often styles it much differently than she did back in the '60s. While Louise probably has tons of tips for rocking the ultimate '60s-inspired bombshell blowout, she seems to have embraced a more sleek and toned-down hairstyle in her later years. In the pic above, Louise's fiery locks are straightened, sitting at about collarbone length, and she has wispy front bangs that touch just below her brows and make her green eyes pop. Louise's top in the pic, a sweater with cutouts at the shoulders, hints that she still has a fun sense of style, just like Ginger.
Tina Louise makes an effort to stay active and healthy in her 90s
Throughout her life, Tina Louise has collected plenty of wisdom to share about staying youthful and radiant, even as she entered her 90s. In the later years of her life, Louise has made it a priority to stay healthy and active, adopting some of the many lifestyle habits that may help you live longer. In order to keep herself mobile and energized, the "Gilligan's Island" alum has implemented daily walks as part of her healthy lifestyle. Speaking to Forbes in 2025, Louise said she goes for walks just about every day, telling the outlet, "I do a lot of walking. Usually, I like to walk at least a minimum of a mile a day, but a lot of days, I walk over two miles."
In a separate interview with Digital Journal around the same time, Louise said, "I am very aware of my health," which is why she makes exercise an important part of her daily routine. "Walking is so important to staying alive. I don't like to come home unless I exhaust myself from walking," she said at the time. Another part of her lifestyle that helps Louise stay young involves exploring her home state of New York, where she still lives. "New York is an exciting place," she told Digital Journal, adding that she has a "couple of close, good friends" in the city. Louise also said she spends a lot of time reading, and she tries to see a show in the city every once in a while.
