In February and September of every year, top-of-the-line designers showcase frocks at New York Fashion Week that are sure to start trends for each season. Smaller labels will vie to be the new hit line that celebrities may eventually wear, and speaking of celebs, NYFW is not just about the clothing. Everyone knows that the biggest stars and influencers get seated in the front row, where they'll be snapped by photographers.
For a few days each fashion week, New York City is taken over by designers, models, makeup artists, and hair stylists. While the shows themselves usually take less than an hour, the whole production can take up to months to prepare. With the 2024 fashion week swiftly approaching, the city will undoubtedly be in a frenzy, and whether you'll be watching from afar or have managed to snag a seat, prep yourself with all the details we have so far.
When will NYFW 2024 take place and how much do tickets cost?
The Fall-Winter 2024 NYFW event will take place from February 9-14. Runway shows, from hotels to showrooms, are held all over the city and are usually reserved for invitation-only guests. Some shows are available to the public, but you do have to become a VIP member, which you can do by registering online and paying $34.99 per month. These shows will take place from Friday, February 9, to Sunday, February 11, at the Conrad Hotel in downtown Manhattan. Friday will feature three shows that start at 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday will have four shows: 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.
If you aim to go, be prepared to shell out quite a bit of money. Ticket prices start at $69.39 for general admission and go up to $237.68 for Front Row VIP, depending on your chosen date and time. If you're a big baller and want the All Access VIP option, you'll have to shell out $2,798.60, which includes a front-row seat, entry into all the after-parties, the ability to purchase designer duds, and an open bar. You can also choose the All Access general admission ticket, which costs $1,412.22 and gets you into all the runway shows and events.
NYFW 2024 designers and GALA
While the designers for the runway shows haven't been revealed yet, you can expect to see all the big names, such as Ralph Lauren and Marc Jacobs, per newyork.co.uk. The designs will center around clothing geared for the fall and winter during the February 2024 NYFW. If you are attending, the site advises going to the evening shows to take advantage of the nightlife.
A fun Saturday event is the New York Fashion Week GALA, which will take place on February 10 and is hosted by SMGlobal Catwalk. The black-tie affair will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets start at $48.99 for general admission, or you can go all out with a VIP experience, which includes getting hair and makeup done before the festivities, a three-course dinner, and a swag bag, all for $381.06. There is an after-party, with the location to be dated, and admission costs $32.66. Of course, if you're a major celebrity, you likely won't have to shell out a dime and may even get paid big bucks to attend, but alas, we can't all be Beyoncé.
