The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2024 Grammy Awards

They say time flies when you're having fun, and the past 12 months zipped by for many music enthusiasts. From the release of the star-studded "Barbie" movie soundtrack to the stunning transformation of Taylor Swift, 2023 gave us an endless stream of audible inspiration to revel in. Tonight, the industry's brightest stars will shine at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, a must-watch for any pop culture fan. The event took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, where host Trevor Noah led the evening's festivities for the fourth consecutive year. The 2024 Grammys included highly anticipated appearances from some of the biggest names in music, with stars like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo performing throughout the event.

For some, the Grammys are all about who takes home a gold-plated gramophone for their achievements. For others — and yes, we see you, dear readers — it's a time to dissect the design choices on the red carpet. Of course, beauty (or beautiful fashion) is in the eye of the beholder, but worst-dressed lists exist to inspire discussion amongst eagle-eyed fashion fans everywhere. Could we see another conversation-starting garment on par with Björk's swan dress? There's only one way to find out. So, stream your fave nominee in the background, grab a snack, and dig into our roundup of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa's had an amazing run in terms of her recent singles, but we swore we heard a record scratch when we saw this red carpet ensemble at the 66th Grammy Awards. From its inexplicable hip slits (that Lipa uses as comfortable hand rests) to its floor-scraping hem, we're not exactly sure what the idea was behind tonight's outfit. It may have all the glitter and glam of a silvery disco ball, but the droopy tailoring of this dress let Lipa down severely.

Lauren Daigle

If you're a child of the '80s — or a massive "Degrassi Junior High" fan — we can already hear your protests about this next pick. Yes, those colorful rainbow threads are certainly something, and singer-songwriter Lauren Daigle should be commended for her bravery on the 66th Grammys' red carpet, at the very least. But just because you can wear a mishmash of accessories atop an already bold dress doesn't mean you should. In fact, if Daigle dropped the hat and restyled those fishtail braids, we think the singer-songwriter could have easily escaped tonight's worst-dressed list.

Alessandra Ambrósio

Model Alessandra Ambrósio is generally known for her sharp sense of style, which makes her gown at tonight's Grammy Awards all the more confusing. It's never a good thing when a celeb's award show attire reminds us of Party City's costume inventory, but unfortunately for Ambrósio, the plasticky 'fit she rocked on this carpet did just that. But we're open to interpretation here. After all, that crumpled gray train gathered on the red carpet could also be interpreted as an empty bin bag — or a Christmas tree skirt, if you're feeling fancy.

Doja Cat

To some, the unending popularity of the late '90s and early aughts style feels like fashion heaven. Others — certainly not ourselves — may look at an outfit like Doja Cat's and experience vivid flashbacks of visiting an alternative art school campus in the fall of 1999. There's no doubt in our mind that Ms. Cat would be the belle of the ball in the aforementioned scene, but we can't say we love her unconventional look on the red carpet.

Rebecca King-Crews

Terry Crews and Rebecca King-Crews may just be couple goals. Still, we can't overlook the fit of King-Crew's suit at tonight's ceremony. Sure, the blond beauty could've been going for an oversized look, but there's a fine line between relaxed and downright slouchy tailoring. That said, we'll give both celebs high marks for their attention to detail here, even if the overall execution didn't land.

Coi Leray

New Jersey native Coi Leray has wowed us time and time again with top-notch designs from her covetable closet, from beautiful bustiers to enviable leather jackets. But even fashion greats can fail from time to time. The trendsetting rapper definitely missed the mark at tonight's Grammys with her confusing ensemble, consisting of little more than sheer tights and a black, fitted blazer. The only way we could see Leray redeeming the look is if the fuzzy green frock by her side turned out to be a charming puppet companion later in the ceremony.

Tish & Brandi Cyrus

Members of the Cyrus clan aren't afraid to make a fashion statement. Just look at the aesthetic transformation of Miley Cyrus or her brother Trace's contributions to the realm of scene style. We're fairly sure Tish and Brandi Cyrus will go down in red-carpet history for their twinning 'fits tonight, though not for the reasons they might've hoped. We hate to say it, but Tish and Brandi look ready for the group interview stage at Charlotte Russe circa 2010, not the Grammys' red carpet in 2024.

Chanel West Coast

We're big fans of television star Chanel West Coast, so it pains us to relegate her to our roundup of worst-dressed celebs at this year's Grammys. But sadly, her sparkling suit left us little choice in the matter. Truth be told, we actually dig the unusual design at play here, but we weren't big fans of her footwear. Instead of strappy heels, which cut her off at the ankles, we would have loved if she'd worn a pair of tight black boots to accentuate the bodysuit's vertical stripes.

Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks is another celeb who left us puzzled on tonight's red carpet. On one hand, we adore certain aspects of Spark's outfit, but on the other, we can't get past how they play with one another. For example, her rounded black handbag is an elegant example of the rosette trend, and we adore the feminine feel of her asymmetrical top. However, we weren't big on the design's sharp, structured bodice, which seemed out of place with the rest of her 'fit.

Lizzo

There are so many looks from Lizzo that we've loved over the years, but her 2024 Grammys look simply wasn't one of them. Lizzo's glam was on point at tonight's show — we're digging that cool-toned smoky eye she's sporting — but we weren't equally smitten with her strapless black gown. Despite some edgy details, including a thigh-high slit and grommeted bust, the rather simple style felt uninspired on a star like Lizzo.
