Katie Holmes Stepped Out In The Perfect Summer Outfit & We're Taking Notes

Katie Holmes is the undisputed queen of street style, and the beloved "Dawson's Creek" alum has done it again. This time, however, she rocked not one but three different summer trends, including wearing sumptuous summer blue, classic white stripes, and the cutest Mary Jane flats. Well, color us impressed.

The "Alone Together" star has elevated herself to fashion-icon status and has won the hearts of many through her style. After all, the fortysomething actor knows how to dress an outfit up or down, and she never fails to leave a sophisticated impression, even when spotted in a laidback ensemble. Although her influence on fashion remains under the radar compared to other A-listers — think Zendaya and Hailey Bieber's tenniscore style that's been everywhere the last few years — her laissez-faire approach has, nevertheless, landed her the distinguished "it girl" title.

When asked to comment about her unique style in 2024, Holmes told The Washington Post, "I think living in New York definitely influences the way that I dress. I'm inspired by the people that I see on the street, and I want to fit in with people on the street, and I want to fit in with other New York women and be cool and appropriate and not necessarily stick out, but look, you know, good." She didn't stop there, though, adding, "Or, just, have some sort of sense of what's going on in the world." Ultimately, the star downplays her eye for fashion, but her outfits always prove she's keen to current trends.

Cobalt blue has been a trendy color in recent years, but this rich hue can take on a darker variation for summer. The "Rare Objects" celeb showed us exactly how it's done when she stepped out on the streets of New York City in a blueberry-toned A-line dress. The textured bouclé fabric used to create this dress is typically pretty heavy, but the white stripes and side cutouts give it a fresh feel that's more than appropriate for summertime.

What's more, the "First Daughter" actor coincidentally pulled off the summer-friendly croisettecore aesthetic with her Cannes-style dress and beachy white stripes. In this case, the white stripes deserve center stage, and fashionistas should take note of how she incorporated this trend with her subtle, French-girl style.

Holmes has been spotted wearing several different pairs, including the white, pointed-toe flats she wore with the striped dress that featured thin ankle straps and a playful T-bar strap. Another pair was glossy and black, and paired perfectly with her white pants and black coat. 

Finally, the "Batman Begins" actor wore a different pair of Mary Jane shoes with a black midi slip dress in 2024. Crafted by Italian fashion label ViBi Venezia, this pair was a cross between traditional Venetian flats and Mary Janes and combined a luxe velvet look with the refined ballet details of standard Mary Janes.
