Red Flags In Prince William And Kate Middleton's Marriage From Our Love Coach

Prince William and Kate Middleton do their best to appear like the perfect couple, and while it certainly seemed so when they first started dating in September 2001, celebrity love coach Nicole Moore sees several cracks in their relationship. As written in author Robert Jobson's 2024 biography "Catherine, the Princess of Wales" (via the Daily Mail), Prince William broke up with his now-wife over the phone in 2007. "He told her they both needed 'a bit of space' to 'find our own way', and he was unable to promise her marriage. In an emotionally charged 30-minute conversation, they both acknowledged they were on 'different pages," Jobson wrote. He continued, "It was a devastating blow to Catherine, who felt doubly let down at being dumped over the phone. Though it wasn't the first time William had called time on their relationship, it felt final."

The breakup was short-lived, and William and Kate reunited a year later. The two married in 2011, with Kate Middleton looking gorgeous in her simple wedding-day makeup. However, since then, the royal couple has raised several red flags, and despite attempts at showing a happy face, Moore exclusively shares with Glam some reasons William and Kate's marriage may be in trouble.

The rumors about Prince William cheating on Kate Middleton won't go away

In 2019, rumors circulated that Prince William had an affair with Kate Middleton's friend, Rose Hanbury. The royal family quickly tried to shut the speculation down, with a source telling Us Weekly, "It's not unusual to have a few hiccups in a marriage, especially after eight years, and Kate and William are no different. They're still going strong. Regardless of their ups and downs, they love each other dearly, and their kids are the most important thing in their lives."

The cheating rumors resurfaced in 2024, with comedian Stephen Colbert even quipping on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" that it could be the reason for Kate's disappearance from the public eye that year. Of course, it turned out that it was caused by Kate receiving a cancer diagnosis. While there were signs that Kate and Prince William's relationship was stronger amid her cancer diagnosis, relationship expert Nicole Moore thinks that where there's smoke, there's fire. "One of the biggest red flags in Prince William and Princess Kate's relationship is the fact that cheating rumors have been swirling for years. It's not uncommon for famous couples to face cheating rumors, but the fact that they have persisted for so many years might indicate that there is some truth to them," she exclusively tells Glam. Moore also points out that King Charles III cheated on William's mother, the late Princess Diana, so there could be a pattern. "We can sometimes take on the characteristics of our parents, even if they are undesirable characteristics," the love coach explains.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's body language has been off

Prince William and Kate Middleton always make sure to put their best faces forward in public, but body language expert Nicole Moore notices some signs of tension between the couple. "There have been several instances where the body language between Kate and William appeared very off, and this may be a red flag. In many photos, Kate appears stiff, pulled away from William, and not fully connected to him," she exclusively shares with Glam.

One specific instance Moore notes is the video shared by William and Kate's official YouTube channel, "The Prince and Princess of Wales," in September 2024, during which she announced that her chemotherapy treatments had been completed. "It looked as if Kate was more playing the role of a happy wife than actually feeling happy with her partnership in that moment," Moore suggests. She added, "In addition, this couple rarely exhibits PDA in front of the cameras. While their lack of PDA may be due to a desire to follow royal protocols, if they were truly in love, they would most likely not be able to stop being affectionate with each other, and it would show in front of the cameras."

Prince William reportedly has a bad temper

One major red flag surrounding William and Kate Middleton's relationship is rumors of the Prince of Wales' short fuse. For example, author Robert Jobson shared in the biography "Our King: Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed" (via Sky News Australia), "He can be difficult. He is a driven person and that can make him impatient." The author continued, "The Boss (Charles) has a temper, too, but it does not go on and on. He can get frustrated and flare up and then, in an instant, it is forgotten about. With William, it is rarely forgotten."

"This could definitely be a red flag and his relationship with Kate," Nicole Moore notes of William's reported temper. She exclusively tells Glam, "When one partner has a bad temper, the other partner often has to walk on eggshells around them and shut down their own emotions just to keep the peace. If the rumors of William's bad temper are true, it's likely that Kate is harboring resentment toward him for not being able to control his emotions in a healthy way." Despite trying to appear like the perfect couple, it's clear that the royal couple can't run from rumors of a strained relationship. Even Prince William and Kate's 2025 Valentine's Day post was full of red flags, so they may need to work on how they appear to the outside world if they want everyone to believe that their marriage is sturdy.
