Glam spoke exclusively to etiquette expert and fashion commentator Jo Hayes, who had all the answers. "The white embroidered blouse — formally known as 'broderie anglaise' — is the summer look for 2025. Especially when paired with denim," Hayes reveals. "The white embroidered blouse delivers on all fronts. ... "After a long, dark winter, we're craving as much lightness and brightness as we can get." Oh yeah, this definitely resonates. But how can we style the look through spring, summer, and beyond? Hayes has a few ideas.

To live your trendiest take on hot girl summer, pair an embroidered blouse with denim. "A white top with blue denim bottoms is a classic combination that never goes out of style. The colors complement each other perfectly for a fresh summer look. One simply needs to incorporate a current-season twist ... to be bang on trend," Jo Hayes advises us. For instance, the previously outdated cuffed jeans trend is making a comeback in 2025 — try wearing this denim style with broderie anglaise for a breezy, modern 'fit.

Hayes adds that one type of sleeves works beautifully here, too. "Big, puffy sleeves are still going strong. ... Pair [them] with a denim short or high-waisted, wide-leg denim jeans," Hayes exclusively recommends to Glam. "The long denim skirt is also having a major fashion moment." To make a maxi work with puffed sleeves, Hayes explains, "... simply ensure it's tucked in to give some definition/shape to your silhouette." Best of all, finishing the look couldn't be easier, as it creates a versatile canvas for accessories of all aesthetics. "With the neutral base of the white blouse and denim, one can really go all-out with bright accessories. Think bright yellow statement earrings, paired with a matching yellow handbag," suggests Hayes. And for those who prefer a minimal palette? "Go with neutral, natural-coloured raffia accessories," the expert recommends.

As for shoes, summery vibes are a fantastic complement to the pastoral sweetness of an embroidered blouse. "A wedge or platform sandal ... will set you on the right path in footwear.
