Lauren Sánchez's Inappropriate Inauguration Day Outfit Was Actually A Recycled Look
Lauren Sánchez was one of the worst-dressed attendees at the Trump inauguration, with critics like Megyn Kelly calling the look "absurd" on her eponymous show (via Instagram). Reddit users also had some strong words about Jeff Bezos' then-fiancée, commenting, "Money can't buy class," and "I realize she's an intelligent and accomplished woman, but LORD, I wish she'd stop dressing [cheaply]." Yes, it's definitely been added to the list of Lauren Sánchez's most inappropriate outfits yet. But the ironic thing is, this is a look she actually recycled.
The outfit in question is a white Alexander McQueen suit, worn with a lacy bra underneath, which flaunted the former journalist's assets. She wore the outfit a few months prior, in September 2024, to the Forbes Power Women's Summit. While she wore the suit on its own for the Forbes event, for the inauguration, Sánchez styled the look with a white, full-length wool and mohair Schiaparelli coat, a must for D.C. in January, and priced at around $9,000 at the time of writing.
Lauren Sánchez loves a white moment
Before her white wedding gown went viral, and also before she turned heads at the inauguration, Lauren Sánchez leaned into white as a wardrobe staple, showing a particular penchant for white jackets. On multiple occasions, Mrs. Bezos has worn white as a crisp pairing with black, in addition to her monochrome white moments, as we saw at the inauguration. (She tends to lean on black, white, and red as her go-tos for both red-carpet and casual outings alike.) In particular, we saw her rock a white blazer paired with a black leather skirt at the Summit on the Summit Photo Exhibition Celebrating World Water Day in 2013. While jackets can sometimes be tricky on petite frames, Sánchez has chosen styles that are in proportion to her stature. We love a good jacket, especially with all the unexpected ways to style a blazer, and find that these looks suit Sánchez's style particularly well, with her love of cuts that cinch in at the waist.
Of course, she's also opted for white dresses in the past, notably going for a body-hugging midi at the Skirball Cultural Center's Fall 2024 Opening Reception. We expect that Sánchez will continue to gravitate toward all-white outfits, which we love for the summer season. Let's just hope they are appropriate for the venue (fingers crossed she doesn't recycle the inauguration look yet again).
