The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2025 ESPY Awards

Batter up, fashion fans: The 2025 ESPY Awards were in full swing on Wednesday, July 16. Also known as the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, the ESPN-produced event highlights the year's top sporting achievements while benefiting the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Comedian Shane Gillis led the 33rd annual ESPYs, held at Los Angeles' famed Dolby Theatre. Naturally, there were plenty of A-list athletes to admire on the evening's guest list, from basketball legend Oscar Robertson to Olympic gymnast ‭Simone Biles, who's been through a stunning transformation over the years.

ESPY Award-goers are generally known for their skills on courts, fields, and turfs, to name just a few settings. But on the red carpet, both sports stars and enthusiasts can take a serious tumble. While some ESPYs styles earned sky-high scores at the event, other looks fell flatter than a dejected old kickball. Ready to see which outfits went way offside? Then grab some peanuts and cracker jacks 'cause it's time to check out the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 ESPY Awards.

This isn't the first time we've seen ourselves in a celebrity's red-carpet faux pas, and it probably won't be the last. But at least our lack of clean laundry on a Monday morning was never documented by the paparazzi. Acclaimed athlete Daria Berenato kept things coordinated in all-black attire at the 2025 EPSYs, but each piece felt more discombobulated than the last. Yes, from the bizarrely cut crop top to the leather highwater pants, Berenato proved you can still look a mess in a completely monochromatic color scheme. 

If you tuned into the seventh season of "Love Island USA" this summer, chances are Katie Austin's glittering gown looks mighty familiar. That's because it's the spitting image of "Love Island" host Ariana Madix's dress from the first episode: a sparkling fishnet design that emphasized every curve. There are some distinctions between the two garments, but we're willing to bet that Katie Austin managed to sit through the other 30-something episodes of "Love Island" if she chose this particular look for the ESPYs.

Speaking of "Love Island USA," one of the show's sixth-season contestants made an appearance on Glam's 2025 ESPYs worst-dressed list. Liv Walker, aka Olivia, sported a basic black gown with matching pointed heels on the ESPYs red carpet. Though Walker wasn't the only star to stick with a safe little black dress at this year's awards, hers was one of the least flattering of the bunch. Wearing a strapless dress called attention to Walker's lack of accessories, and the overall look failed to make a strong impression.

Unfortunately, Jordan Chiles' 2025 ESPYs attire was a swing and a miss, mostly for its resemblance to uncomfortable woven patio furniture. If you've ever had to spend an inordinate amount of time pressed up against a sweaty wicker chair at a family cookout, then you can appreciate why we loathe this dress. We're getting secondhand discomfort just looking at the stiff fabric of Chiles' skirt.

Call us old-fashioned, but Lindsey Vonn's eggplant-colored dress made us long for the days of the whale tail. While there's a commendable amount of color-matching going on in Vonn's ensemble, the excessively high side slit gave us pause. There's nothing wrong with a cheeky glimpse of one's undergarments, but the hint of skin felt misplaced against Vonn's otherwise elegantly styled eveningwear.

It's plain to see that Randi Mahomes is a lovely lady, but her dishwater-gray dress at the 2025 ESPYs detracted from her beauty. Wearing her blond locks in a slicked-back style, Mahomes donned an asymmetrical gown in a color that can only be achieved by marinating in a three-compartment restaurant sink for several hours. While Mahomes nabbed a spot on Glam's worst-dressed list for this debacle, we're pretty sure her gown earned its ServSafe Certificate in the meantime.

LSU Tigers guard Flau'jae Johnson also rocked a crystal mesh dress at the 2025 ESPY Awards. While her updo and accessories were to die for, it was hard to feel the same way about that bulky rosette situated on her hip. The massive floral adornment drew the eyes away from her stunning hair and makeup, and created something of an eyesore amongst a sparkling netted backdrop. Without the nod to the rosette trend that was everywhere in spring '23 at her side, Flau'jae would have easily swerved the worst-dressed list.

Remember Glam's list of worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 Met Gala? In case you missed it, Hailey Bieber's blazer-inspired minidress was on the list. Thus, it would be wrong to give Alanna Kennedy a pass for this officewear offense on the 33rd ESPYs red carpet. The Australian soccer star's ill-fitting top overwhelmed her delicate frame, while several accessories struggled to save the day. It's a shame, too, because Kennedy's shoes are actually pretty cute on their own.

Alex Morgan will forever be a fan favorite for her contributions to women's soccer — or football, depending on where you're from. Still, even sports stars have their off days. From the neck up, Morgan served Old Hollywood Glam at the 2025 ESPY Awards, letting her chestnut tresses curl around her shoulder. Her shimmering bodice and black satin skirt, however, told another tale. The metallic fabric could have made a fine full gown if given the chance, instead of taking the back seat as a clashing coordinate.

Chari Hawkins certainly outdid herself on the 2025 ESPYs red carpet with this blush-colored number. We're not suggesting she should have been dressing for a baseball game, but the billowing train of Hawkins' gown bordered on bridal fashion. As such, the excessively ornate outfit felt a tad inappropriate for the festivities, rounding out Glam's 2025 ESPYs worst-dressed list.
