Jennifer Lopez's Natural Hair Is So Different From Her Normal Style

If you like a bit of variety in your celebrity inspirations, then Jennifer Lopez is the gift that keeps on giving. Whether it's relationships, makeup looks, her style transformation, or her career, the "Kiss of the Spider Woman" star doesn't stick to just one thing. Add hair to that list. From first arriving in entertainment until now, J.Lo has shown what a hair chameleon she can be. In fact, even her natural hair is so different from the styles she wears for the camera.

We're used to seeing Lopez with hair that is capital-D Done. It's blown out into cascading waves, or styled into a bombshell updo; we're used to full, long hair to the point that Jennifer Lopez is unrecognizable without her hair extensions in; and we're used to seeing her photo as the demonstration of what brond means. In real life, however, Lopez has — or had — curly, rich-brown locks. She's confessed that she started going gray at 23 and gets her roots touched-up every couple of weeks. We can't help but wonder what it would look like if she let it be without running it through her glam squad.

We get it: There's Jennifer Lopez the person and Jennifer Lopez the mega-celebrity, who has to keep up appearances that support her brand of sexy, confident, superstar woman. But we also think she'd be stunning if she embraced her natural hair, joining the throng of celebrities who proudly show off their gray hair, and inspire many of us in the process to accept ourselves as we are.

But would her hair be curly now? Quite possibly not. As Taylor Swift explained to the world in 2019, hair gets less curly as you age. (She lamented the loss of her natural curls, which straightened as she got older.) Most likely, Lopez's hair would have followed the same route by now. Though she played a curly-haired cop on "Shades of Blue," that was likely the handiwork of someone in the hair department. But we'll never know unless she lets us all see. Jennifer Lopez has repeatedly shown us how flawless she looks going makeup-free; we bet her natural hair would be just as gorgeous.
