Lauren Sánchez Looks So Different With Shorter Hair
Let's pretend you were walking down the street in an exotic locale and you saw a couple surrounded by bodyguards. If the man had a bald head and aviator sunglasses, and the woman had long hair, pouty lips, and was draped in designer clothes, you might immediately guess you were looking at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. Mrs. Bezos, especially, has developed a distinct beauty look over the years since she became a figure on the global stage thanks to her relationship with the Amazon chair.
One of her signature beauty elements is her long, subtly highlighted chestnut mane, which we strongly suspect gets amplified with hair pieces. But she hasn't always stuck to long lengths; she's sampled shorter hair more than once in her adulthood, and we can definitely say she is among the celebs who look different without hair extensions. Back in 2007, when she attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party with then-husband Patrick Whitesell, she showed off a clavicle-grazing black bob. Then in 2024, she revisited the cropped aesthetic with a slightly longer 'do. She debuted her lob at a White House state dinner in April (and we deem said lob to be one of the best haircuts for the quiet-luxury look). Sánchez repeated the lob but with a wavy texture the following month for the Met Gala.
Lauren Sánchez should revisit short hair again
Lauren Sánchez strikes us as the type of woman who doesn't want to follow rules when it comes to fashion and beauty. And we are here for that. But there are a few reasons why she may want to revisit her shorter hairstyle in the future, partly based on her age.
Sánchez, who was 55 when she married Bezos in the summer of 2025, would likely be among the menopause-age women who experience hair thinning. A shorter cut can give the appearance of thicker hair. Also, prolonged use of hair extensions can damage tresses, and experts frequently suggest giving hair a reprieve from the weight and tugging that comes with getting faux hair put in. It's hair 101 that a cut — even if it's just a trim — is good for the appearance of the locks; it helps to get rid of dry, dull, and sometimes split ends. And in a global celebrity like Sánchez's case, it can make headlines.
What do you think? Is Lauren Sánchez one of the celebs that look better with short hair? Or are her long locks a signature hairstyle she should maintain?
