Celebs Who Confessed To Plastic Surgery After Years Of Denying It
There's been a recent fad in pop culture for celebrities to reveal what plastic surgeries they have had done — and what to ask for if you want the same results. It all came to a head when social media influencer Rachel Leary posted a TikTok in June 2025, asking Kylie Jenner directly what she asked for before she went under the knife for her breast augmentation. Luckily, the Kylie Cosmetics founder came through with all the juicy details, writing, "445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! [Her surgeon] garth fisher!!! Hope this helps lol." Then, when Fisher posted a statement to Instagram thanking her, many of his patients celebrated his years of excellent work in the comments, including Kris Jenner. "Garth you are such a superstar class act!! You did my first facelift in 2011...14 years ago!!!" the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star wrote in the comments.
As more celebs come forward about their plastic surgery experiences, it reminds us of a time when A-listers weren't as forthcoming. Over the past 100 years of plastic surgery, women were once shamed for altering their looks, yet expected to appear younger. Some would even make up stories to ensure that no one would suspect them of plastic surgery. Ultimately, many eventually had to drop the act and come clean years later. From Tyra Banks reversing her anti-surgery stance to Rose McGowan telling a made-up story, let's look at the celebs who ultimately ended up admitting to plastic surgery after denying it.
Tyra Banks turned her nose up at plastic surgery rumours
Tyra Banks has been a trailblazer of the modeling community for decades, hosting "America's Next Top Model" from 2003 until 2018 (not including Cycle 23, which she left in place of Rita Ora before returning for Cycle 24). For much of her career, she was vehemently against the use of plastic or cosmetic surgery, even saying to The Sun (via The Fashion Insider), "I am totally against plastic surgery. My doctor was Dr. K Roxanne Grawe. A lot of people think I have breast implants because I have the biggest boobs in the business." To her credit, she has never admitted to having a breast augmentation, but for her to reveal that she's "totally against" going under the knife was still false in light of recent evidence.
In her 2018 memoir, "Perfect is Boring," the supermodel revealed that she underwent a rhinoplasty early in her career. "I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching," Banks remarked in the book (via People). "I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth." She closed the interview, expressing, "There is a boundary line, either you're super natural or you live at the plastic surgeon ... We as women need to stop judging."
Rose McGowan flat-out fibbed about her procedures
Rose McGowan has been in the public eye for quite some time now, so when her face started to change in the 2000s, people took note. When she was initially asked if she had gone under the knife, she'd live to regret her answer. Initially, she credited the changes to her appearance to a car accident, for which she had to undergo reconstructive surgery. However, when her 2018 bombshell memoir, "Brave," was published, she told the real story.
In 2007, the "Charmed" alum went in for a rhinoplasty to fix a sinus issue when her surgeon made an incorrect incision under her right eye, causing it to appear pinched. In her book, McGowan wrote that it was her team that fed her the lie. "I told my publicists what happened, and they said to say it was a car accident," she wrote, per Too Fab. "Looking back, I don't know why it mattered, but I took that advice, and so when I was asked by the press, that became the party line."
Victoria Beckham revealed her botched breast augmentation later
Victoria Beckham may be a celebrated fashion designer now, but once upon a time, she was Posh Spice. Clearly, Victoria Beckham's style has undergone a stunning transformation, and so has her ability to tell the truth. In the early 2000s, fans noticed that her breasts had significantly increased in size, with many assuming the work of a breast augmentation. However, at the time, Beckham denied the rumors. "I'm completely natural, except for my fingernails, and I have a bit of help with my hair and a bit of a St Tropez [fake tan] going on," she said in a 2003 TV interview, according to The Daily Mail.
In 2005, her lawyers disclosed that she had gotten breast implants, but Beckham herself didn't hint at it until February 2014, when she remarked to Allure, "I don't have them anymore, I think I may have purchased them." As it turns out, the Spice Girl went under the knife in 1999 after the birth of her and David Beckham's first son Brooklyn Beckham, bringing her previous 34A bra size to a 34DD. Years later, she revealed how she felt about the intense, sudden transformation. "If I'm honest, I wish I'd never [gotten implants]. It was a moment in time, and I think I can share my experiences with her," she said in a December 2023 issue of Allure, referring to her daughter Harper Beckham. "But we're not there just yet."
