Mila Kunis Looks So Different With Her Natural Hair

Mila Kunis is both one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood and one of the celebs who is even more gorgeous in real life, but that doesn't mean her look hasn't changed significantly over the years. After receiving her big break as Jackie Burkhart on "That '70s Show" at around the age of 14, Kunis' career and prominence have maintained her celebrity status across decades.

Though she'll occasionally change up her hair for a role or even experiment with different styles, Kunis' luscious locks have mostly stayed dark. However, it wasn't always as pin-straight as the "Bad Moms" star typically wears it today.

Back in the early 2000s, when it was chic to rock your natural waves, Kunis stepped out au naturel. Well, her hair was natural, at least. In 2002, the "Black Swan" star donned the red carpet when MTV Icons was celebrating Aerosmith. She pinned back the face-framing pieces of her mocha-brown locks, but let her natural curls out to play: flyaways, baby hairs, and all (if only she knew of the TikTok dental floss hack for static-y hair back in the day).

Mila Kunis can pull off just about any haircut

To attend the Aerosmith event, Mila Kunis wore purple eyeshadow and a light-pink top, both of which complemented her naturally dark hair. As mentioned previously, the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star hasn't strayed too far from her dark hair in her personal life since then, but she has experimented with quite a few various cuts and styles. In 2004, Kunis debuted a hairstyle that every young woman rocked at one point or another: the side bang. At 21 years old, Kunis debuted the most luxurious, chocolatey-brunette, glossy hair when she cut it to a shoulder-length lob with side-swept bangs. Around this time, it was clear that she was moving away from the natural curl she had previously showed off.

Since then, the "Family Guy" actor has tried several different cuts and styles, adding extensions occasionally or stepping out with an updo for others. She moved from the middle part to a side part and back again, but she seemed to have left her curls behind. It wasn't until Kunis did another chop in 2017 that her look changed drastically once more. Starting small, she cut her hair into a blunt lob, later taking it up in 2018 to an angled bob. Then, for the Billboard Music Awards that May, Kunis hit the carpet and looked unrecognizable with a fresh set of blunt bangs, and the internet went wild. However, Kunis did arrive at the MTV Movie and TV Awards a month later sans bangs. Perhaps she'll whip out the fake fringe again, but we can only hope.

Mila Kunis debuted a new hair color after decades of rocking the brunette look

Mila Kunis is known for her perfect espresso-colored locks, and any forays she's embarked on outside the world of brunette have stuck to similar hues. Around 2008, she started testing the waters with some subtle, warm-honey highlights. Combined with her luminous extensions, glimmering shine, and stunning texture (still gorgeous despite not being her natural curls!), it was the perfect element of dimension to make her hair stand out even more.

Then, in January 2025, she decided to warm things up, literally. After decades with her signature color, Kunis got an all-over dye job that turned her dark brown locks into a subtle dark auburn, commonly referred to as cherry-cola hair. The color suits Kunis in more ways than one, as she chose the shade of red perfect for her skin's undertone. Her olive skin tone lies more on the cool end of the spectrum, so she's a natural match for reddish tones with blue and purple undertones, such as cinnamon. Though the "Friends with Benefits" star didn't go as far as to dye her hair purple this time, we know what could be in store for her next look change-up.
