Whatever Happened To Melania Trump's Skincare Line?

Have you ever wondered why Barron Trump has such lovely skin? Neither had we, but then we learned that his mother used caviar-infused cream all over her 7-year-old son's body. It's not too farfetched, either — caviar does have some skincare benefits. You might also wonder why the FLOTUS doused her young boy in high-end moisturizer. We know Melania Trump loves to wear expensive outfits, but even this seems a bit extreme. Well, it all has to do with her skincare line, which was a failed venture compared to the first lady's other pursuits.

Like President Donald Trump, Melania can be considered an entrepreneur, using her notoriety to sell things. There was her successful jewelry and timepieces line, sold via QVC and her website, which debuted in 2010. She sells her own audiobook and even Christmas ornaments on her website, and she also famously launched a cryptocurrency, Melania Meme, which costs about ¢20 per unit as of September 2025. But back in the fall of 2012, the former model announced Melania Caviar Complexe C6, a six-piece skincare line that was set to launch the following spring. Other than Barron, however, hardly anyone ever got their hands on the products, mostly because of legal issues that had nothing to do with Melania herself.

Fans were excited to try Melania Trump's skincare line

Melania Trump signed with New Sunshine LLC, a tanning products company funded by her husband's acquaintances, in 2012 to help develop and launch her skincare line. Things were coming along well until infighting at New Sunshine caused a suite of lawsuits to be filed, with different parties needing cash. Melania ended up in a judge-ordered arbitration, but the damage to the skincare line was already done.

Before the implosion of New Sunshine, Melania appeared on a 2013 episode of "The Apprentice" in which the celebrity contestants were tasked with creating a marketing campaign for the new caviar-infused line. The free publicity, combined with the fact that fans would love to use what the Slovenian beauty uses — after all, Melania Trump looks stunning nearly makeup-free — created a big buzz around the product line.

But fans were left wanting. Melania posted a photo of the line on her Facebook page at the time, and the excitement was palpable. "Can hardly wait to try your new skin care products!" one fan wrote. But then loads of questions started coming in: "How much does this sell for? I can't find any info on it anywhere" was followed by "I have checked at Lord and Taylor [where it was supposed to be available] but am having trouble locating your new line." Before it was even able to hit shelves en masse, New Sunshine had failed to fulfill orders, and the entire line was scrapped.
