If you saw an uptick in bedazzled hair in 2018, that might have been the work of Blinger, the hair gem tool that was created by Angie Cella. While sales boomed as soon as it hit the market, it took the single mom four years before Blinger launched. According to the product's website, the idea for the device came to Cella in a dream, and she worked tirelessly to get it up and running. With no manufacturing or business experience, she reached out to four different engineering companies, who all told her they couldn't come up with a prototype. After the fifth company finally came up with something, Cella was broke and sold the family house to fulfill her dream.

Once Cella introduced Blinger at fairs, she saw how well-received it was. "September 2018, my life forever changed. Our product finally arrived, and we made our first sale. From this point forward, life has been a dream. I was, and still am, so eager to continue this journey. I love brightening lives, and inspiring others to do the same," she shared on Instagram. Still, as business boomed, Cella's inexperience at running a large company had her drowning in responsibilities, and that's where "Shark Tank" came in.

What happened to Blinger on Shark Tank?

Angie Cella showed up to "Shark Tank" Season 15 with her daughter Cambria and loads of optimism. Angie showed the panel that while bejeweled makeup is here to shine, blinged-out hair is even more fabulous. After demonstrating Blinger, the Sharks were astounded at how quickly the tool worked. And, the mother-daughter duo also showed the entrepreneurs a grown-up version, which came in black and was able to attach Swarovski crystals to hair. With their interest evident, Angie requested $200,000 for 5% of the company and guidance from one of the Sharks as to how to run the business.

Despite being impressed by Blinger's sales, Mark Cuban was put off by the fact that Angie didn't have a Chief Financial Officer or a bookkeeper. Kevin O'Leary agreed and said, "I really think what you have to do is find someone that takes over your operations." He thought Blinger's business side of things was too unorganized, so he was out, along with Cuban. Barbara Corcoran, however, was interested and told Angie that she'd invest $200,000 but for a 25% stake, and on the condition that she had to agree to fly to New York City with Corcoran and really hash out the logistics. After Angie tried to negotiate for a lower stake, Corcoran held fast to the number but agreed to fund Bling's purchase orders, thereby securing a partnership.

Blinger's journey after Shark Tank has been inspiring

After Angie Cella's "Shark Tank" appearance, she grossed $77,000 in Blinger sales within six hours of the episode airing, and the number rose to $242,000 after a week. Barbara Corcoran made good on her promise and flew the mom of four to New York, where she helped tighten up the business. At the "Shark Tank" star's advice, Cella decided to hold off on launching new products and instead, focused on the ones she already had on hand, as well as rebuilding Blinger's website. "This is a very successful woman who has seen a lot," the entrepreneur shared, per Inc. "She's worked with a lot of companies and she's built her and many successful businesses at this point. Even if I disagreed [with her advice], I took it."

Blinger got much buzz after "Shark Tank," and Cella was able to show off her wares at a TaylorGate event in 2024. "Today marks the end of Taylor [Swift's] iconic Tour! We had so much fun meeting everyone in NOLA and Indianapolis — thank you for making it unforgettable! Don't let the excitement fade — grab your blinger limited edition Taylorgate and refill packs to keep the memories alive," the company's Instagram page posted. Despite initially halting more products, Cella eventually added to Blinger's inventory, and it appears the business is thriving and is one of the best beauty "Shark Tank" products you can still buy today.

Blinger is still thriving and showing no signs of slowing down

During Angie Cella's "Shark Tank" pitch, she admitted to not having a Chief Financial Officer, and also didn't want to be CEO of the company. It appeared she took the Sharks' advice and hired staff with financial knowledge. In March 2025, Blinger shared a TikTok of its setup at a toy fair, and an employee demonstrated the gem-applying tool on the CFO at the time, Bradley Bennett. According to his LinkedIn, he worked at Blinger for a year before leaving in June of 2025. It's unclear who is helping run the company, but Cella is still very active in her start-up and is listed as the president of Blinger on her LinkedIn.

Blinger is still thriving in the market, and if you're looking to avoid hair tools that cause the most damage, Cella's invention can be found in many retail spaces. You can hop onto QVC's website or Amazon and get the tool with just a click. Many customers gave rave reviews of the product after Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" in 2024, and it was even a hit with adults. "Originally bought this for myself & friends for the Taylor Swift concert — it was so fun to revisit this gem from childhood! Got lots of compliments, too," one shared on Amazon. Blinger's success is proof that with some perseverance and the help of a "Shark Tank" business mogul, your literal dreams can come true.
