Cameron Diaz's Revenge Dress At The 2007 Golden Globes Had Everyone Staring

In the 2000s, Hollywood star Cameron Diaz had her very own revenge-dress moment, and to say that it was memorable would be a complete understatement.

The "Charlie's Angels" star showed up at the 2007 Golden Globes red carpet in an off-white Valentino gown with tiered ruffles and one strap. The dress was princess-like and delicate, but Diaz perfectly balanced it with the addition of the bedazzled belt, black bow, and her at-the-time black hair. Of course, the actor has been known for her blond locks for most of her career, which is why the dark hair color seems like an even more dramatic statement. Now, let's get into the juicy stuff — how come this particular look qualifies as a revenge dress? Because she wore it just after splitting with one of her most famous exes: Justin Timberlake.

Cameron Diaz began dating 2000s pop heartthrob Justin Timberlake in 2003, and the two quickly became one of Hollywood's most well-known couples. In early 2007, their relationship ended, but for Diaz, award show season was just about to begin. The two released a statement on January 11, sharing with the world that they had parted ways. "It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media," they shared (via People). "We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship, and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another." On January 15, Diaz attended the 2007 Golden Globes, where she not only stunned in the Valentino gown but also reminded the world that she is happy and thriving, regardless of her recent breakup. 

Apart from the fact that the dress was a masterpiece, it was Diaz's dewy skin, bright-red lips, and updo with face-framing pieces that elevated the entire look even more.
