If Walmart helped establish the town of Bentonville, Arkansas, then Dave and Jenny Marrs have helped breathe new life into it. HGTV watchers will recognize the Marrs from their hit show "Fixer to Fabulous," which debuted on the home-reno channel in 2019. As with many HGTV shows, husband Dave is the builder, who offers comic relief along the way, and Jenny is the creative force behind their projects. Think Joanna and Chip Gaines or Ben and Erin Napier. And just like Joanna Gaines' complete transformation, so too has Jenny Marrs transformed from child growing up in Florida to stunning success story.

But don't assume that life as a designer on HGTV is Marrs' top priority. No, for this strong Christian, her faith and her family are her biggest concerns. Dave and Jenny Marrs are parents to five children, who have appeared on "Fixer to Fabulous" throughout the years. Jenny has also documented their lives regularly on her Instagram, making the Marrs family and its matriarch fan faves.

1979-2004: Jenny Marrs grows up in Florida

Jenny Marrs was born in January 1979 and grew up in central Florida. As a child, she spent time on the beach as well as vacationing in North Carolina. It's easy to see Marrs in her childhood photos, though she's distinctly grown out of the bangs and freckles. She left Florida in the late '90s to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to study advertising and public relations. After graduation, she stayed nearby to work for Rubbermaid, which is where, in 2002, she met future-husband Dave, who hailed from Colorado.

After two years of heavy, travel-related work, Dave decided corporate life wasn't for him. In 2004, he left the business world to start his own building and construction firm based in Bentonville. Jenny followed. On a trip to Paris, Dave surprised Jenny at the Eiffel Tower by dropping to one knee with a ring to propose.

2005-2009: Early married life for Jenny Marrs

Jenny and Dave Marrs were married in April 2005, surrounded by roughly 250 family and friends. While a pastel gown would've worked beautifully as a wedding dress based on her zodiac sign, the Aquarius opted for a classic white, strapless number instead. She looked stunning in her choice, per a photo she posts to Instagram each April in commemoration of the occasion. The couple opted for a wedding color scheme that would stand the test of time by choosing white and incorporating pink accents with her bouquet of roses and the bridesmaids' dresses. The event was held in central Florida at the Mission Inn in Howey-in-the-Hills.

The couple continued to live in northern Arkansas, traveling to Italy in 2009, per an Instagram post. The European country would feature again in their lives when they returned to film "Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano" to renovate their friends' Tuscan property.

2010-2018: Parenthood begins and design career continues

Dave and Jenny Marrs knew they wanted children, and that became a reality in 2010 when twin boys Nathan and Ben were born — not without complication, however. The twins were born prematurely at 29 weeks and had to spend their first month in the hospital. Two years later, the Marrs decided to adopt a child from Africa. Again, there were complications, but their first daughter, Sylvie, ultimately joined the family in 2013. In the meantime, Jenny had become pregnant again, giving birth to second daughter Charlotte in 2014. Even as a mother of four, Jenny managed to look pulled together in jeans (her go-to) and simple tops.

During this time, Dave and Jenny juggled parenting with the occasional couple's trip, as they did to California in 2017, per a photo Jenny posted to Instagram, and their business of restoring homes. The talented duo's reputation made its way to HGTV producers, who approached the couple. In 2017, they filmed the pilot episode of "Almost Home," which would later become "Fixer to Fabulous."

2019-Present: Jenny Marrs embraces her HGTV success

"Almost Home" was given a name change for its 2019 debut; it was now "Fixer to Fabulous." Dave and Jenny Marrs were a hit. That wasn't their only big news of the year, however. In June, their fifth child Luke was born. It seemed like no time passed before Jenny was back to her slim figure, into her signature jeans and a tee, using her design prowess to bring renovations to life.

Fans have also gotten to see Jenny get a bit more glam in recent years. In October 2025, wearing a floral maxi dress, she promoted her second book, "Trust God, Love People." (She's also authored "House + Love = Home: Creating Warm, Intentional Spaces for a Beautiful Life," which came out in 2023.) In June 2024, the popular couple attended the Daytime Creative Arts and Lifestyle Emmys in L.A. where they were nominated for Outstanding Instructional and How-To Program. Jenny opted for an asymmetrical gown and wore her hair in an updo with face-framing pieces that suited her classic style to a T. On Instagram, she posted about the event: "Well that was fun! After a lot of years of a lot of hard work, it's nice to sit back and celebrate every once in a while!" Though the couple didn't win the trophy, they seemed to appreciate being recognized nonetheless.
