Katy Perry's Inappropriate Outfit To Meet A World Leader Had The Internet In Shambles
Katy Perry is living a "Teenage Dream" in her new romance with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, and with that comes rubbing elbows with global leaders. Unfortunately, the "Firework" singer made a fashion faux pas that the internet could not stop talking about. In a December 2025 post shared by Japan's former prime minister Fumio Kishida, he and his wife are seen posing next to Trudeau and Perry. And, while everyone else is dressed conservatively, Katy Perry wore one of her most inappropriate outfits with a super-short skirt, sheer stockings, and leather booties. After Trudeau retweeted the post, the internet had plenty to say about the pop star's look. "Doesn't your celebrity accessory know how to dress for a protocol event?" one commented. Another wrote, "She couldn't be bothered to wear a professional outfit." Yet another X user quipped, "You couldn't buy Katie [sic] an entire skirt?"
Perry, for her part, seemed oblivious to all the backlash over her miniskirt. Two days after the political meeting, the former "American Idol" judge hard-launched her and Trudeau's relationship with an Instagram carousel. "Tokyo times on tour and more," she wrote. The pics included the pair enjoying the local food and sights, including a sumo wrestling match. Perry appeared to be dressed more conservatively this time, but it seems she has a habit of wearing revealing clothes, and one particular outfit on television had many clutching their pearls.
Katy Perry was also scolded by the internet for her revealing American Idol look
Katy Perry has broken the internet with her revealing outfits plenty of times, but "American Idol" fans thought her May 2024 dress was completely inappropriate. In a tweet shared on X, one watcher posted a screenshot of Perry's shiny black creation that featured a low-cut top with cutouts at the navel and sides. "What the heck is(n't) Katy Perry wearing tonight on #AmericanIdol? I feel like there are moms all over America covering their kid's eyes," the poster wrote. A fan replied, "Isn't this supposed to be a family show?"
While the "Last Friday Night" singer may have offended "American Idol" viewers with her dress, she told People back in 2010 that she's proud of her body. Aside from Katy Perry looking flawless makeup-free, she said, "My favorite feature on myself, besides my big boobs ... I like my hourglass shape and I play off of that a lot. I like that I have a lot on top and a lot on the bottom." We love a confident queen — although, perhaps she should save her risqué 'fits for the stage.
