Before-And-After Pics Of Amy Schumer Show Just How Weight Loss Transformed Her Face
It's no secret that appearance plays a significant role in Hollywood, and anyone in the spotlight often faces harsh criticism. We've closely followed Amy Schumer's evolution from stand-up comedy to feeling comfortable in her skin, and one thing that the actor has been known for is her transparency. For instance, Schumer has been very open about her weight-loss journey over the years, including opting for liposuction. "It's not about needing to be slamming, because I've never been famous for being hot, but I'd reached a place where I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022.
Soon after, Schumer was put on the weight-loss drug Wegovy, but she wasn't handling it well. "I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn't play with my son," the comedian admitted on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" in 2023 (via CNN). "I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great, but I couldn't lift my head off the pillow. So what's the point?" In December 2025, she announced in a now-deleted Instagram reel that she'd actually lost 50 lbs. "to survive" her Cushing syndrome (via People), and it seemed to up her confidence, too.
The star's face over the years has shown how much the weight loss changed her appearance, and Amy Schumer isn't hiding her stunning legs post-weight loss, either. Still, she was always gorgeous. Earlier in 2025, Schumer had shared on social media that she had made the switch to Mounjaro, a different brand of weight-loss injections, and that she had been very satisfied with it so far. "Mounjaro's been great," she said, adding that she is "having a really good experience, so I wanted to keep it real with you about that" (via People). She's in good company, too, as quite a few celebs look totally different after using weight-loss medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro.
Public criticism led Amy Schumer to her Cushing syndrome diagnosis
In 2025, Schumer opened up about how public criticism of her appearance resulted in her discovering that she has Cushing syndrome, a condition in which one's cortisol levels remain high for a longer period of time than usual. "A year ago, the Internet really came for me," the comedian told Alex Cooper on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that January, referring to comments pointing out her swollen face. "I was like, 'Okay, everybody, like, relax'," she said, adding that she began paying closer attention when professionals began sharing a possible diagnosis. "Doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were, like, 'No, no ... something's really up. Your face looks so crazy,'" the "Trainwreck" star explained.
Thanks to the comments, Schumer realized that steroid injections, which she'd been getting to treat scars she had after her Cesarean section and breast reduction, may have caused her body's cortisol levels to spike. "[I] was getting these steroid injections and so it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome — which I wouldn't have known if the internet hadn't come for me so hard," she added. "I learned I had this condition, and that I had something called moon face." Ultimately, we're just glad that Schumer saw the signs of high cortisol levels, which can upend one's life, and was able to get professional help.
