Victoria Beckham Will Never Live Down Her Inappropriate Outfit At Son Brooklyn's Wedding

We were all hoping that Victoria Beckham would break her tradition of wearing inappropriate wedding guest dresses when she attended her son Brooklyn Beckham's nuptials to Nicola Peltz-Beckham in April 2022. Unfortunately, we had no such luck. While there's no denying that the former Spice Girl looked absolutely stunning in a simple yet elegant silver slip dress with delicate lace embellishments, her outfit was inappropriate on many levels. 

For starters, it arguably showed too much skin with a deep neckline and spaghetti straps that put Victoria's killer arms on full display. Despite its unique and eye-catching liquid metallic finish, the "Wannabe" hitmaker's sultry outfit ultimately resembled a lingerie piece or a nightdress and wasn't something you would expect a mother of the groom to wear. Notably, slip dresses did indeed play a huge part in Victoria Beckham's style transformation, so she may have simply elevated an old favorite. 

However, Victoria's inappropriate outfit on her eldest child's wedding day led many onlookers to come to the same conclusion: She was trying to steal her daughter-in-law's thunder. And that theory was further supported by Brooklyn's January 2026 Instagram takedown of his parents. According to his now-expired Instagram stories, his bride was eager to wear a wedding dress made by Victoria's fashion brand. However, her dreams didn't come to fruition because the fashion icon had apparently cancelled the making of the dress at the last minute and left Nicola in a massive lurch to find a replacement dress. Meanwhile, Victoria's inappropriate mother-of-the groom outfit came from her label.

Thanks to Victoria Beckham, one of the strangest things about Nicola Peltz-Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham's marriage is their wedding day. In May 2025, an insider informed People that Marc Anthony made things incredibly awkward and tense. "Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up ... Victoria Beckham!'" the insider shared. Naturally, this could feel like a slap in the face to the bride.

Unfortunately for Nicola, the one-upping didn't end there, as she had to reportedly watch her mother-in-law do an ill-timed slow dance with Brooklyn. At one point, per People's source, Nicola reached the end of her rope and left the room with tears running down her face. According to one insider, the billionaire's daughter couldn't figure out why mother-in-law had felt the need to barge in on their special moment. Notably, in Brooklyn's January 2026 Instagram story, he also conceded that Victoria had "hijacked" their pre-planned wedding number and proceeded to "inappropriately" dance with him. 

The eldest Beckham child admitted that all the embarrassing moments of his life paled in comparison to the one from his wedding day. Later, an onlooker told Page Six that Victoria had "got up on stage and wrapped her arms around Brooklyn" and "nuzzled into his neck." Given all this, it's unsurprising that Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows sans his parents in August 2025, per Us Weekly.
