Lauren Boebert's Eyebrow Blindness Is Undeniable In These Pics

As a member of the United States Congress and representative for Colorado's fourth congressional district, Lauren Boebert is undoubtedly taking makeup cues from her MAGA peers. The right-wing politician is hardly seen without a face full of heavy foundation, dark self-tanner, and bright-red lips. And then there are the eyebrows. As a makeup artist who has done up countless faces, I just can't get past Boebert's Sharpie-like brows. It's clear she has eyebrow blindness, which is when a person can't see how unflattering their brows are, whether they're overly plucked, badly shaped, or way too dark for their skin tone.

Although Lauren Boebert's face has changed over the years, one thing that has remained the same is her penchant for heavy brows. It seems like she thinks filling them in as darkly as possible is best, but when they start looking like caterpillars on her forehead, she needs to ease up on the application. While mastering the fluffy brow trend was big a few years ago, a softer look is more in right now, with many celebs even bleaching theirs. Boebert doesn't have to go that far, but she definitely should look at her brows with fresh eyes and finally realize that less is more.

Lauren Boebert was all smiles at the 2024 Republican National Convention, but her black, blocky brows were no laughing matter. She filled them in to match her hair to a tee, which just overtook her features and made them look harsh. Instead, Boebert should have used a dark-brown shade with a hint of ash to flatter her skin tone. And, she needs to use a feathering method to avoid that stenciled-on result, or simply use a spoolie brush to soften the edges.

Lauren Boebert just can't help but make strong brows her whole personality, even when going on a road trip. The mom of four shared a selfie while driving in February 2024 showcasing oversized eyebrows that even her cowboy hat couldn't hide. Boebert must have felt particularly extra that day, as her dramatically thick brows took on a life of their own and were even larger than her eyes. I'm guessing she wore her eyebrow pencil down to a nub while applying her makeup in the morning.

Lauren Boebert showed off her patriotic side when she posted a selfie proudly holding up her "I Voted" sticker in June 2022, wearing a full face of glam. With her bold-red lipstick, heavily-lined eyes, and chunky black brows, Boebert was the opposite of the natural no-makeup look. She must have been rushing to get to the polls because aside from the spidery lashes, Boebert's eyebrows were mismatched. One was drawn on with a slight curve in the middle, while the other appeared much rounder. The whole application got a huge downvote from me.

Aside from using an unflattering black shade on her brows, Lauren Boebert's major makeup mistake is being unable to consistently draw them in the right shape. The conservative grandmother-of-one shared an Instagram reel in April 2020, which showed her rocking U-shaped eyebrows that were uneven to boot. Rounded shapes were popular in the 1920s and then made a resurgence in the '90s. However, while they looked fine in pencil-thin silhouettes, thicker styles like Boebert's just end up looking like tadpoles, especially with the ends tapering off in tails. 

While I appreciate nice, thick brows, drawing them in with harsh edges always results in the person looking angry. Lauren Boebert looked extra stern in May 2024 during a New York City appearance, particularly as she had slightly angled eyebrows with the inner corners dipping down. Her MAGA makeup application was in full effect, with layers of mascara and thick, matte foundation. One of Lauren Boebert's biggest fake tan fails didn't help soften her face, either, and suffice it to say, this was not her best look.

We can all safely agree that symmetry isn't one of Lauren Boebert's strong suits, especially when it comes to her brows. While at a March 2022 budget hearing in Washington, D.C., the politician's wonky eyebrows stole the spotlight, but not in a good way. One of them appeared to be missing a part of the inner corner, with the tail extended far more than it should have been. Perhaps it would serve Boebert well to use stencils so that she can at least have a matching pair if she's going to continue to bombard us with her eyebrow blindness.
