Relationship Rumors That Have Plagued Meghan Markle

Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have made efforts to convince the world that their marriage is just fine, but they haven't quite landed thanks to the rumors that persist around their marriage. In February 2026, an insider informed Star Magazine (via OK!) that the Sussexes had drifted apart because their professional goals were misaligned. According to them, the initial shine of Hollywood is "just a bore" to the royal, and he has turned his focus to the Invictus Games and finding more public speaking jobs.

Meanwhile, Meghan remains enamored by Hollywood and has had no problems mingling with A-listers while still promoting her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Ultimately, Meghan and Harry have reportedly been seeing less of each other because they adopted vastly different schedules to accomplish their vastly different goals. Earlier, in January 2026, a RadarOnline source claimed that Meghan and Harry's relationship might not make it to the end of the year. By their account, the couple is at odds because Harry keeps bringing up his desire to make frequent trips to the U.K. to mend ties with his father King Charles III amidst his health issues.

However, the "Suits" alum reportedly has no interest in even talking about returning to a place that triggers memories of "some of the most stressful and painful periods of her life." The insider believes that the emotionally charged conflict could be the final nail in the coffin for Meghan and Harry's marriage. For his part, Harry laughed off the divorce rumors at The New York Times' 2024 DealBook Summit. After joking that they were divorced a dozen or so times in the media's eyes, he said that he felt truly "sorry" for "the trolls" who were rooting for his marriage's downfall (via People).

Meghan Markle has sparked affair rumors with her close friend Markus Anderson

A major red flag in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship is that some people think she looks happier with her friend Markus Anderson than with her own husband. The entrepreneur's friendship with Anderson reportedly goes way back to the days when she was finding her footing in Toronto while starring in "Suits." Since Anderson knew her before she properly rose to fame, it's unsurprising that their friendship remained unaffected by her high-profile relationship.

In fact, shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first date in 2016, she vacationed with the consultant in Madrid, Spain. At the time, the American actor wrote her BFF a since-deleted Instagram birthday tribute, sharing, "What would I do without you, my loving, supportive, and endlessly fun friend??" she continued. "I know what....I would be bored, and life would be infinitely less interesting. I love you SO much" (via People). Their friendship appeared to be thriving in the following years, as they watched a hockey game with Harry in 2023 and attended Paris Fashion Week 2025 by themselves.

Unfortunately, netizens didn't see their closeness as a sign of a friendship that's healthy and built to last, and instead began speculating that they were having an affair. After looking at a photo of Meghan beaming beside Anderson at the Vancouver Canucks hockey game, one commentator on X deemed him her "real husband." To social media commentators on Facebook, Harry's body language during hangouts with his wife and her BFF made him seem like a third wheel. However, Harry's willingness to hang out with Meghan's close friend could actually be seen as a sign that they're in a healthy relationship.
