Victoria Beckham Was Nearly Unrecognizable With A Spiky Pixie Haircut
Victoria Beckham may be known for her long hair today, but back in the 2000s, the former Spice Girls member took more risks with her locks. Not all of them paid off, though, as one of the Victoria Beckham hair looks that made us cringe the most was her spiky pixie.

In 2008, Posh Spice cut her hair into a bold pixie, which she often wore in a messy style. At the time, Beckham was in her mid-30s, and it seemed she was going through an identity crisis, switching up her hair quite often. For one, she was photographed at a fashion event for her brand DVB in October 2008 in Madrid, Spain, and her combination of preppy style à la Blair Waldorf and a '90s punk pixie didn't really work. The pixie's length added too much out-of-place height to the singer's look, and the way it was styled genuinely looked like she'd just rolled out of bed.
However, her dark pixie wasn't always awful. Just a month prior to her spiky moment, Beckham showed up to the Marc Jacobs show during New York Fashion Week, and her short pixie instantly reminded us of Audrey Hepburn. The delicate, short pieces were messy, but they didn't distract from her beauty. In fact, the pieces at the front, which acted like subtle micro-bangs, only drew attention to the designer's facial features.

Between 2006 and 2009, Victoria Beckham gave us a plethora of different hairstyles, many of which we bet she wouldn't redo today. In 2007, the pop star-turned-designer rocked a short blond haircut with longer pieces in the front — a look that has since become known as the "Karen haircut." In 2022, Posh Spice shared a video on TikTok with a viral sound saying "yes" or "no" to things "with little to no explanation." In the video, Beckham reflected on her past hairstyles, and while she gave a "yes" to her spiky dark pixie, she said "absolutely not" to the "Karen" look.

By 2008, Beckham's hair was darker, but she didn't stop with the innovative hairstyles. In fact, Posh Spice also loved creating the pouf, shaping all of her hair into a high mountain on her head. Of course, looking back, the height achieved with her short hair seems like a style we would see in Whoville, but Posh Spice was adamant that this was a red-carpet-worthy look.
