Before-And-After Pics Of Christina Aguilera's Face Won't Quiet Those Ozempic Rumors
Ever since her breakthrough in the late '90s, singer Christina Aguilera has been known not just for her four-octave vocal range, but also for her stunning beauty. In fact, as a pop singer, Christina Aguilera has been through a complete transformation in the spotlight — one that encapsulated her artistry, fashion, and quite notably, her face. Aguilera's face changed over her decades in Hollywood, and in the mid-2020s, the pop diva's face dramatically lost volume, something many speculate could be the result of using GLP-1 medications. "What has she NOT had done is the question ... lip and facial fillers during the past decade, more recently Ozempic," one Redditor commented. However, Aguilera has never confirmed or denied using the diabetes drug that can cause Ozempic face.
To shed more light on the pop star's face transformation, we've enlisted the help of Dr. Brandon Richland, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Richland MD and Richland Aesthetics who has not personally treated the star. Exclusively for Glam, the expert explained what he believes caused such dramatic changes. "Looking at these photos, the transformation in Christina's face from 2019 to late 2025 is quite dramatic," Dr. Richland says. "As a surgeon, I'm always evaluating the balance between fat pads, skin elasticity, and underlying bone structure, and she has clearly undergone a significant shift in all three areas."
In particular, the fullness in Aguilera's face has transformed. "In the 2019 and 2022 photos, you see a much fuller, more rounded facial silhouette. This is typical of more midface volume," he explains. "By 2024 and especially in late 2025, that volume has decreased." The expert tells us that "her cheekbones are more prominent, and the lower third of her face including the jawline and chin, is far more sculpted and snatched."
Christina Aguilera's facial changes are consistent with GLP-1 medication use
While Christina Aguilera never addressed the GLP-1 medication rumors, the pop star noticeably lost weight in the first half of the 2020s. In fact, she seems to have lost around 40 pounds in a rather short time span. With that, her face lost lots of volume and has become much more angular. "While she looks great, the transition from a softer, rounder face to this highly defined, angular look indicates a loss of the subcutaneous fat that gives the face its youthful plumpness," Dr. Brandon Richland tells us exclusively. "These changes are consistent with the rapid fat depletion we often see with GLP-1 agonists."
However, Dr. Richland explains that if the facial slimness is the result of weight-loss injections, Aguilera most likely also used injectables like dermal fillers to counteract the hollowness and skin sagging that rapid weight loss can cause. "When someone loses a large amount of weight quickly, the face is often the first place to show it because we lose those deep and superficial fat pads that support the skin," Dr. Richland notes. "This can lead to what people call 'Ozempic face,' where the skin looks a bit more redundant because the volume that once filled it is gone." The expert adds that in 2025, Aguilera's face looked slimmer but not "gaunt or hollow," and this could mean that the "Genie in a Bottle" singer "had some help maintaining her facial structure indicating possible subcutaneous fillers." Back in 2023, Aguilera admitted to using injectables, telling Allure, "I think we all can rely on a little help. Why not?"
Christina Aguilera's facial changes aren't just due to weight loss
Apart from the potential use of fillers to counteract any hollowness her weight loss may have caused, side-by-side photos of Christina Aguilera in 2012 and 2024 showcase that her eyebrows are also much more lifted. "The lifted and refreshed quality of her eyes and brows in the recent photos is striking," Dr. Brandon Richland shares exclusively with Glam. "At 45, seeing that level of tightness and upward tilt in the lateral brow and eyes often points toward more than just diet and skincare alone."
While it's difficult to believe that Aguilera's face has not been cosmetically enhanced, Dr. Richland points out that the changes that have been made are natural-looking and not overdone. "It's possible she's utilized advanced skin-tightening treatments, strategically placed fillers to replace lost volume, or even a subtle surgical lift to ensure her face didn't sag after the weight loss," the surgeon tells us. "She looks incredibly rejuvenated, which is a testament to the 'undetectable' era of aesthetics where the goal is to look like a refreshed version of your younger self rather than 'overdone.'"
Of course, we have to take into account that makeup techniques can also be updated, and contouring and highlighting can noticeably change the way one looks in photography (Christina Aguilera seems to have avoided the contouring mistakes that can make you look older). This can also contribute to the way Aguilera's face has changed, further enhancing some of the features that have become more prominent since her weight loss.
