4 Of The Wildest HGTV Star Face Transformations
While HGTV is there to give us fabulous interior design transformations and inspiration we can use for our own spaces, the truth is that the stars we get to know and love on the channel's shows are the main reason we come back. Over the past years, we've noticed that some HGTV ladies don't look quite like they used to.
Now, aging is always a factor we take into consideration, but some of the women on our screens simply look different — not older. Of course, there are HGTV stars who can't seem to dodge Ozempic rumors no matter how hard they try, and by now it's known that the weight-loss medication can change one's face. But some ladies have had facial transformations that go beyond the Ozempic face. Whether their lips have become plumper, their jaws have slimmed down, or their eyebrows have lifted, stars like Christina Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa simply don't look like they used to, and these throwback photos clearly showcase that.
Christina Haack has been open about using dermal fillers and Botox
Whether you know her from "Flip or Flop," "Christina on the Coast," or "Christina in the Country," there's no denying that Christina Haack is HGTV royalty. Over the years, the real estate investor has renovated numerous spaces, showcasing that change is important. One thing that has also changed with time is Haack's face, and we're not talking about natural aging. A side-by-side photo of the HGTV star in 2017 and 2025 shows just how different she looks. And while Christina Haack totally transforms when her hair isn't in its signature middle part, in this case, her transformation is most likely due to injectables.
Haack has been open about her use of dermal fillers and Botox. In fact, in 2022, she shared that a cosmetic procedure didn't go as planned. "In April I had a reaction to under eye filler. Super swollen and it wouldn't go down with time," Haack wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside a photo of her swollen under eye area (via People). In 2023, when the television star turned 40, she joked about using Botox when asked how she deals with aging. "Nothing a little Botox can't fix," Haack told People.
Over the years, Haack's lips have gotten plumper, which can be achieved with either fillers or a lip flip. The star's face is also slightly slimmer in the jaw area, which can be the result of TMJ Botox. Of course, the star has also changed up her makeup routine, which can also noticeably alter the appearance of one's face.
Heather Rae El Moussa's facial changes haven't gone unnoticed
Heather Rae El Moussa went from being a Netflix star to an HGTV star when she made the transition from "Selling Sunset" to "The Flipping El Moussas." And while El Moussa's face had already begun changing during her time on the Netflix show, a side-by-side of the star from 2014 and 2025 shows just what a difference a decade has made.
A slimmer face and nose, higher eyebrows, and plumper lips are noticeable, and while El Moussa never confirmed or denied any injectables or plastic surgery, she has shared her love for Thomas Tsai, MD. "Happy to announce I am working w/ plastic surgeon Dr. Tsai as his surgical coordinator," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) sharing a link to the plastic surgeon's website. On Reddit, users have discussed what procedures El Moussa had seemingly undergone, with "fillers, Botox, dimple enhancers ... eyelid surgery" and "a nose job" being most frequently mentioned. While Heather Rae El Moussa is gorgeous makeup-free, the changes in her face don't seem to be all natural.
Chelsea DeBoer's lips and jaw changed, and many blame Botox and fillers
Another reality star who joined the HGTV family is Chelsea DeBoer, who made the switch from MTV's "Teen Mom 2" to HGTV's "Down Home Fab." "I don't know how I did the full transition, but it is nice. I love reading an article that says, 'Chelsea from HGTV,'" the star told Glamour in 2025. Over her years in the spotlight, DeBoer's face also underwent a transition, as side-by-side photos of her in 2012 and 2025 show.
"It's a combination of fillers, aging and bad makeup," a netizen wrote on Reddit, with another adding, "She's overfilled her face and now it has migrated down ... Definitely Botox as well as lip filler, but the craziness you're seeing is from the filler in [the] cheek area." The reality star's lips are undeniably plumper in 2025 than a decade earlier, and many speculate that she also has jaw filler and is regularly getting Botox injections. However, with the advances in makeup and skincare, it's difficult to know just what facial changes are permanent and what is simply a trick of lighting, contouring, and finding the right angles. Nevertheless, DeBoer's current look is often compared to the Mar-a-Lago face trend.
Mina Starsiak Hawk revealed that she had undergone a blepharoplasty
"Good Bones" star Mina Starsiak Hawk has been in the spotlight since the mid-2010s, and looking back at photos of her from then, it's clear how much she has changed. The stunning transformation of HGTV Star Mina Starsiak Hawk is also evident in her face, and in 2023, she opened up about the blepharoplasty she underwent. "I don't like wearing makeup, and I don't want to put makeup on every day. I want to wake up and feel fresh-faced and just roll out of bed," the HGTV star said on her podcast "Mina AF." "This is the only reason I ended up doing this — you can do an eyelid lift awake under local anesthesia. If you are a calm enough person to sit there while someone cuts your eyelid open."
Of course, the eyelid lift instantly changed the star's face, and since then, Hawk has also opened up about the face treatments she gets. In 2025, she shared the healing process after a CO2 hybrid laser. "If you're 40 and your face doesn't look like mine, you'll at least know it's because I spent money to torture myself to get that fresh to death skin," she wrote in the caption of an Instagram video showcasing the progress of her healing.
