Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi's Most Inappropriate Outfits Over The Years

When thinking back to the early 2010s, one unavoidable show was the topic on everyone's lips: MTV's "Jersey Shore." The breakout star of the reality show that reigned supreme was Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, the pint-sized firecracker famous for her signature hair pouf. Cameras followed her around on the daily as she walked the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, danced the night away at clubs, and suffered a few spray tan fails she probably wants us to forget. Polizzi's fashion sense made her stand out, as she was frequency seen in body-hugging animal prints, graphic t-shirts, and designer handbags. Her clothing transitioned from streetwear that doubled as swim coverups to loud club wear in bright neon colors and rhinestones.

Most of the time, Polizzi's wardrobe was made up of sheer or skin-tight pieces that showed off her petite body. Her fashion philosophy seemed to be "less is more" — less fabric that is, so it's hard to tell when certain outfits of hers were way over the line. But some of her clothing monstrosities just can't be overlooked. Whether morning or night, Polizzi prioritized keeping her style casual but still sensual and cheeky. This led to her wearing quite a few questionable outfits that looked far too sexy for the setting she was in. Polizzi was never willing to stray from her signature style, no matter how tasteless it looked. Here are a few examples of when Polizzi should've been more subtle with her style rather than baring it all.

Snooki's skirt at the 2010 Grammys was too short

At the height of her career, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi acted as an MTV News correspondent at the 2010 Grammy Awards. It was clear that her super-short streetwear sensibility stayed intact even when she was invited to formal Hollywood events. On the 2010 Grammys red carpet, Polizzi wore a skin-tight purple bodycon dress with a very short skirt. Not only did this look far too sexy, but her messy hair gave the impression that she didn't care about scoring a ticket to music's biggest event of the year.

When she arrived, Polizzi had a jacket, oversized sunglasses, and a Coach purse in tow. But she shed those accessories when she hit the red carpet photo line, showing off her legs in a miniskirt and heels. Her strapless purple dress could barely stay up with its low-cut neckline that left most of Polizzi's bust out on display. She was quite a fan of the revealing outfit, telling MTV that its sexiness was part of the reason she chose to wear it. "I really like it because it shows my cleavage," she said (via HuffPost). "And I always wear black, so why not do purple?" Polizzi noted that she also appreciated how the outfit's violet color popped against her tan skin.

Snooki's embarrassing day on the boardwalk included a taboo word on her shirt

When the Jersey Shore became Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's home at the height of the MTV series, she unapologetically walked up and down the boardwalk whenever she felt like it. The clothing she wore on the shore was so casual and relaxed, it appeared as though Polizzi believed she was the only one on the pier. But in a place where so many families and young kids are looking to enjoy a day out, Polizzi would have been wise to dress more modestly. This was especially true on a summer day in 2010 where the "Jersey Shore" star made news headlines.

Polizzi was arrested for disorderly conduct on July 30, 2010. And the outfit she wore when being handcuffed certainly didn't help her case. Her ensemble consisted of a tank top with animal print that bore an explicit word in large letters. She completed the outfit with a barely-there miniskirt, an Ed Hardy style trucker cap, and fuzzy frog slippers. The contrast between elements of her outfit were jarring, as the furry texture and childlike design on her slippers felt juvenile while the language on her shirt and short skirt were way too mature. It's no wonder Polizzi topped our list of 5 reality stars with the worst style.

Snooki bared it all in beachwear while shopping in low-cut sheer dress

When visiting Miami Beach in during the second season of "Jersey Shore," Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was determined to take her signature cheeky style down to the Sunshine State. Clothing that the cast wore in Florida really wasn't much of a departure from what was in their closets back in NJ. The only difference was that the year-round warm weather meant that the cast didn't need to pack outerwear, and decided to barely wear more than a single layer to cover their bathing suits. Polizzi's most scandalous example of this was a sheer bohemian patterned dress she tried on during a day of shopping in May 2010. The long sleeve dress included a short skirt and deep V-neckline which left Polizzi's cleavage fully uncovered.

One would assume that Polizzi's intention was to utilize this dress as a swim coverup. After a day of soaking up sun and sand on the beach, this garment could be quickly thrown over her head so she could continue on with her day without needing a change of clothes. But the outfit's inability to mask Polizzi's bikini made it clear that this piece was not as seamlessly transitional as she may have hoped. Her colorful bikini straps peeped through the top and bottom of the see-through coverup dress. We get why this short outfit would be a good contender for fending off the Florida heat, but the sheer and low-cut elements were too revealing.

Snooki wore lingerie to the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premiere in 2018

Nearly 10 years after the original series premiered, the world rejoiced when MTV announced it was reviving "Jersey Shore" in 2018 — with the original cast set to return. A new series titled "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" saw the OG cast members reuniting in Miami Beach. At this point, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi had matured quite a bit since the last time she appeared on MTV by creating a quieter life for herself alongside her husband and children. But at the premiere of the new show, Polizzi returned to her old ways by reviving her habit of wearing controversial outfits. Instead of showing up in a dress or a formal outfit of any kind, she hit the red carpet in lacy lingerie and a mesh robe.

The tiny Polizzi wore an even tinier pink negligee with lace lining. The romper style left much of her skin exposed, which definitely felt like it should have stayed in the bedroom instead of being worn to a work event. While her signature hair pouf was nowhere in sight, Polizzi's choice of wardrobe proved that she was still her old unpredictable self. Her attempt to turn pajamas into streetwear fell flat as the garments looked like something that shouldn't be worn out in public.
