Erika Kirk Has Made More Than A Few Makeup Mistakes

Erika Kirk has had a face transformation since her beauty pageant days, but it's clear that she's never moved on from the heavy makeup that contestants are known for. The current CEO of Turning Point USA loves a beat face, but that doesn't mean she's an expert at application. One would think she learned all the tricks of the cosmetics trade while competing for the crown all those years ago. However, along with Erika Kirk's obvious eyebrow blindness, the rest of her makeup needs work. Looking at her through the lens of a makeup artist with over a decade of experience, she definitely has a heavy hand that isn't needed, particularly as the trends have shifted away from overloading products on the face.

While Kirk is very much in the public eye even after retiring from the pageant circuit, that doesn't mean she needs a whole Sephora aisle of makeup. If she toned things down a bit, her natural beauty would shine through, and all the mistakes she's made wouldn't be as apparent. Sadly, it seems Kirk has been stuck on the Republican makeup trend for quite some time, and it doesn't look like she's going to switch things up anytime soon.

Erika Kirk's reverse raccoon eyes were painfully obvious

Wearing ultra-light concealer underneath the eyes was a huge trend around 2015, and it seems Erika Kirk is firmly stuck in the past a decade later. A 2025 Instagram post showed her with a face full of bronzer, which only highlighted the patch of white along her undereye area. It didn't stop there either — it looked as if Kirk spread the concealer across the bridge of her nose as well. With all the makeup tutorials these days, there's no reason to make a mistake this big, and perhaps the contour novice might want to try nontouring to highlight her features.

Erika Kirk needs to learn that orange makeup is never a good look

Erika Kirk usually fills in her eyebrows with a dark-brown shade, but for some reason, she decided on a ginger color in January 2025. It was a completely wrong choice for a blonde, as it read orange and made the hairs on her brows stand out like a sore thumb. Adding to Kirk's orange theme that day was a heavily bronzed face, complete with a walnut-colored lipstick. There was way too much warmth going on, especially on Kirk's naturally fair skin tone.

Blending streaky blush is not Erika Kirk's forte

Erika Kirk really laid her makeup on thick while promoting her late husband Charlie Kirk's book in December 2025. Along with rusty smoky eyes and several layers of mascara, the mom of two applied a peach-colored blush right on her cheekbones, but failed to blend it seamlessly onto her face. Bronze makeup can look natural when you use it sparingly, particularly on fair skin. However, it looked like Erika swiped on way too much and didn't take the time to ensure there weren't any harsh edges. When you can see where the blush begins and ends, it's time to up your blending skills.

Erika Kirk took her smoky eyes a bit too far

Erika Kirk went full glam when she accepted the Charlie Kirk Legacy Award in November 2025 with a green sequined dress, a perfectly coiffed half updo, and a full face of heavy makeup. While everything was overdone, from her foundation to the contouring, what stood out the most were her badly smoked-out eyes. Erika had smudged the grayish shadow way too low underneath her eyes, creating a panda-like effect. Super-smoky eyes like these aren't just outdated; they also look like a big mess, even when intentional.

Erika Kirk's spidery lashes needed a good combing

Erika Kirk surprisingly kept much of her makeup low-key during the New York Times DealBook Summit in December 2025, which only drew attention to her clumpy lashes. It looked like she had swiped on one too many layers of mascara but failed to comb her lashes, which resulted in a gloppy mess. I always have a thin metal comb on hand to carefully go through each strand and separate them between applications. Perhaps Kirk was in a rush that day, but a mere two seconds would have saved her from spider lashes.

Erika Kirk's angry brows practically jumped out of the screen

Erika Kirk got all dolled up for a Turning Point USA event in October 2025 wearing the prerequisite MAGA makeup. Her eyebrow blindness was in full effect here, with Kirk using a dark-brown color to fill them in — and not in a good way. The peaks were overly emphasized, giving her face a harsh, angry look. A more rounded shape would suit Kirk better, and she needs to refrain from drawing the ends too low, as they drag down her features. Eyebrow blindness doesn't have to be a lifelong affliction, but the first step is recognizing that you have it.
