Euphoria's Barbie Ferreira Can't Seem To Escape Ozempic Rumors

Ever since she rose to fame as Kat Hernandez in HBO's series "Euphoria," Barbie Ferreira's appearance has been in the spotlight. The actor always exuded confidence, embracing her curvier physique by rocking skin-tight fashion and encouraging the masses not to compare themselves to unrealistic beauty standards. However, in 2025, the star's weight loss became undeniable, and by 2026, she certainly reminded us of the celebs who look totally different after using weight-loss medications like Ozempic. While Ferreira has yet to address whether she has been on a GLP-1 medication, many believe that the sudden weight loss is thanks to the popular weight-loss drug.

"Ozempic did her clean, she looks amazing," a Reddit user gushed, with another adding, "She looks awesome. Great job, no matter how she did it." Even though Ferreira was a poster child for body positivity, an insider claims that her weight loss is career-related. "Since she quit 'Euphoria,' the opportunities have been drying up for Barbie and she knew that a reinvention was necessary to maintain longevity," a source revealed to Daily Mail in 2024. "In order to get roles in Hollywood, you've got to look the part and as shallow as that sounds, it is, unfortunately, true." However, Ferreira's weight loss caused quite the backlash online, with many calling the actor out for neglecting everything she previously stood for.

Ever since her breakthrough in 2019, Barbie Ferreira has become a role model for many. By embracing her curves, the actor has shown her fans that beauty comes in all sizes. "I think bigger bodies are not as 'trendy' as they used to be, which is really sad to me. But it's more of a conversation of the fact that we all struggle with self-love, and I don't think any young person has really figured it out yet," Ferreira told WWD in 2022. "It's not radical for me to be wearing a crop top ... I've been doing this since I was 16. I'm 25."

So when Ferreira lost some weight, fans were disappointed by the change. "Everybody was all about body positivity until skinny came in a syringe," a netizen stated on Reddit. Since her weight loss, Ferreira's waist became more snatched, and her face also drastically changed, with her cheekbones becoming more prominent. And while the transformation took many by surprise, plenty also came to the actor's defense, arguing that as long as she's happy, that's all that matters. "She was shamed for being plus-sized and now she's shamed for losing weight? Make it make sense," a Reddit user wrote in the same thread, with another adding, "There should be no debate. It's her damn body. Not up for voting [on] what everyone wants her to do with it." Regardless of how her weight loss came to be, Ferreira looks great, and if she did use GLP-1 medication, she certainly managed to avoid Ozempic face, which is a risk of the diabetes drug.
