Singer-songwriter Dolly Parton has been in the entertainment industry since the '50s, making her one of the most long-standing musicians still popular today. Over her years in the spotlight, Parton's appearance has changed as the star has embraced a more campy, avant-garde look. In fact, just Dolly Parton's hair transformation through the years has been impressive, with the musician giving us multiple takes on voluminous hairstyles. And speaking of volume, one feature that also gained plenty of it over the years is Parton's lips. While Parton's lips are known for their overfilled look, back in the 1970s, the country-pop star was rocking a much more natural look. However, even back then, Parton's lips were always enhanced with makeup, with the singer switching between sultry red lipsticks and fun pink lip gloss. In a conversation with Vogue in 2017, Parton admitted that she had always loved enhancing her lips, even before she began wearing makeup. "Until I was a teenager, I used red pokeberries for lipstick and a burnt matchstick for eyeliner," the "Jolene" singer explained.

Over the years, Dolly Parton has been transparent about going under the knife, telling Saga Magazine, "If something is bagging, sagging, or dragging, I'll tuck it, suck it, or pluck it" (via Prevention). In "Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business," a 1994 autobiography, the singer normalized acknowledging plastic surgery by stating, "Having had plastic surgery is something I am not embarrassed about. I have done it, and I will do it again when something in my mirror doesn't look to me like it belongs on Dolly Parton."

Speaking exclusively to Glam in 2025, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Frederick Weniger explained just how Dolly Parton's face has changed over the years. The surgeon shared that while Parton doesn't seem to be a stranger to dermal fillers, the musician may have even had lip implants, a way to enhance lips without using lip fillers. While the "9 to 5" singer hasn't shared exactly what she has done to her lips over the years, she certainly seems very happy with the way they look now.
