Kaitlan Collins Will Never Live Down Her Inappropriate Outfit At The 2024 Presidential Gala
CNN's audience has gotten used to seeing correspondent Kaitlan Collins in professional attire, as the reporter often dons tailored suit jackets and modest blouses on camera. However, when outside of the studio, Collins likes to show off her own unique sense of style. The outfits she embraces are much more playful and less structured, often including feminine gowns and eye-catching one-pieces. Back in 2024, she selected a black-and-white dress for the Presidential Gala that's annually held at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C., but despite being the right dress shape for her body type, the look unfortunately fell flat by not fitting the event.
Collins wore a black dress covered in a busy white floral pattern, which included a halter neckline that looked rather informal and relaxed for such a prestigious and glamorous event. What's more, the silhouette included an awkward asymmetrical line that separated the bodice from the skirt. Oddly, this made the skirt appear to be a darker color than the top, which looked like a lackluster gray. Ultimately, the gown was reminiscent of a prom dress, and her shoes didn't help, either, as Collins' peep-toe sandals felt overly casual.
Kaitlan Collins has a history of wearing outfits that look out of place
The black-and-white ensemble that Kaitlan Collins wore to the 2024 Presidential Gala is certainly one of those inappropriate outfits at political events we'll never forget, but it's far from the only controversial clothing that Collins has been seen in. She's made appearances on talk shows with outfits that reveal a lot of skin, like the low-cut inappropriate interview outfit that Kaitlan Collins wore on "Watch What Happens Live" in early 2024, mere months before she debuted her off-kilter gala look. That same year, she donned a short minidress to presumably show off her long legs on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." She looked great, but she could've easily flashed the audience on accident.
Collins' misguided wardrobe choices in 2024 didn't stop there, either. The Kennedy Center Honors that December saw Collins commit the same offense she was guilty of at the Presidential Gala. She wore an unceremonious black-and-white minidress with spaghetti straps and a strange panel of fabric extending to the floor from a short skirt. The ensemble felt too informal for the black-tie event, looking like an outfit one would wear out for drinks with friends rather than a prestigious celebration.
