Ice Spice's Inappropriate Outfit At SpongeBob Movie Premiere Had The Internet Up In Arms

Ever since she entered the scene in the early 2020s, rapper Ice Spice has been known for her unapologetic aesthetic. In fact, a few years ago, she was on our list of the biggest celebrity transformations of 2024, and more recently, she made headlines as one of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 Super Bowl. In December 2025, Ice Spice performed the song "Big Guy" for the animated comedy film "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants," and the look she wore to the movie's premiere caused quite the backlash.

The rapper showed up to the premiere of the PG-rated film in a dress by Blumarine that was so sheer it would have been inappropriate for plenty of occasions. Why she decided that it could work for a family film is beyond comprehension, and the internet was quick to voice its opinions on it. "Is that see-through? How could she get away with this?" a user shared on X. "I wish people would just wear their lingerie at home or in their intimate setting, instead of at [a] kids' movie screening," another netizen wrote on Reddit.

Apart from the fact that the dress showed plenty of cleavage, the sheer material also barely covered the rest of Ice Spice, with the rapper's white thong being extremely visible. She paired the white lace number with pastel pink hair and white platform heels for a look that was more suitable for a mature industry event, not a children's film premiere. For once, the rapper's more fun and colorful fashion (with enough fabric) would have been a much better choice.

Ice Spice is no stranger to a sheer dress moment

In recent years, Ice Spice has given us more than just one sheer look. In fact, the "Bikini Bottom" rapper has repeatedly pushed the norm of acceptable fashion. In 2023, she attended the BET Awards in a sheer black Dolce & Gabbana dress, which left very little to the imagination.

A year later, the rapper attended the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in an even more revealing sheer number also by Dolce & Gabbana. The latter also caused quite the controversy, with many deeming it too tacky for the glamorous after-party. Ice Spice eventually took to social media to defend her choice, writing "Let's see u b****es in custom dolce," in a since-deleted post (via Vibe).

For both occasions, the sheer gowns were risky choices, but nevertheless, it was way more appropriate to wear them to adult events rather than to the premiere of "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants."
