SLOMW Star Whitney Leavitt Tried A Little Bit Of Everything On Her Weight-Loss Journey
As one of the stars of the popular Hulu reality series "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," Whitney Leavitt has taken the spotlight by storm. From competing on Season 34 of "Dancing With the Stars" to making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the musical "Chicago," Leavitt is undeniably one of the women from Utah who is ready to take over the entertainment industry. Over the past couple of years in the spotlight, Leavitt's weight has also been a common topic of conversation, as the reality star's weight noticeably fluctuated.
In 2023, Leavitt shared her experience with Weight Watchers while appearing on the podcast "Weekly Trash." "I was feeling great, doing great," Leavitt admitted, explaining that eventually she experienced a "halt" in her progress. The star also opened up about her battle with hypothyroidism, which can often also cause weight gain. In 2025, Leavitt shared a video on TikTok clearly implying that she was still a Weight Watchers partner and that she often used the program's app to track her eating habits.
Whitney Leavitt has used GLP-1 medication in the past
Back in 2023, Whitney Leavitt opened up about her use of GLP-1 injections, sharing in a YouTube video that she had been loving the effects of the medication. "I have been losing weight, and I have a secret sauce," Leavitt said, adding, "I don't know if you've heard of semaglutide. Technically, for people with type 2 diabetes, but it's regulating my blood sugar and just like, killing the fat." In the video, Leavitt wrote that she had lost 10lbs in a month.
With her admission, Leavitt joined a long list of celebs who look totally different after using weight-loss medications like Ozempic. In 2025, Leavitt did an interview with It Girl during which she discussed her use of Ozempic some more. "I did Ozempic, I loved it. Sure, I was skinny," the reality star admitted, adding, "I had diarrhea, I was throwing up all the time, and then as soon as I got off of it, I gained all the weight back." Leavitt explained that she had used GLP-1 medication after giving birth to her second child, but had decided against it after her third pregnancy. On the "Weekly Trash" podcast, Leavitt further explained that she didn't feel good on the medication. "I feel like I'm easily irritable, but it's probably also because it's also suppressing my appetite," she shared, adding, "I've loved the weight loss, I've hated how I've felt on it."
Whitney Leavitt is mostly focused on healthy eating and exercise
In 2025, Whitney Leavitt reached the semifinals on the reality competition "Dancing With the Stars." Extensive workouts and rehearsals not only helped her learn the dance routines, but they also got her into great shape. "On 'Dancing With the Stars,' you're rehearsing four to five hours a day, and when you come home, you're just exhausted," she told Interview in 2026.
After the birth of her third child in 2024, Whitney Leavitt decided to take a different approach to keeping the weight off, particularly when it came to eating. "I'm having a healthier relationship with food," she explained to It Girl in 2025. "I've been counting my macros, and it's been incredible, highly recommend it. And, you know, I'm just trying to think of the long haul."
On the "Weekly Trash" podcast in 2023, Leavitt stressed that body acceptance and positivity were high on her list of priorities. "What I have is a gift, and I'd hate to have 10 years go down the line and [regret thinking I look fat]. I never want that, and I don't want that for my kids either," the reality star shared.
