Erika Kirk's Frizzy Bun Had Us Almost Missing Her Mile-Long Hair Extensions

While Erika Kirk's biggest hair extension fails are hard to look away from, the Turning Point USA CEO's attempt at a messy bun may be one of Erika Kirk's worst hair looks to date. Kirk is one of the biggest offenders of the "Republican hair" trend, a total style miss that sees conservative women wearing the same wavy, blond extensions. However, Kirk traded her trademark long blond locks for a low bun at an Arizona State University Turning Point USA chapter meeting in March 2026.

Kirk was photographed next to the chapter president in a black camo-print baseball hat sporting the logo of her Proclaim clothing line. Kirk went ultra-casual for the meeting, pairing the cap with a pair of black jeans and matching button down. However, her frizzy bun was what caught our attention – Kirk just can't seem to ever get her hair right! Wisps of Kirk's hair can be seen escaping the confines of both the hat and her hair tie in a look that seems to be more unkempt than purposefully tousled. While a messy bun can be an easy hairstyle for an effortless morning routine, maybe Kirk should have put a bit more effort into her hair this time.

Erika Kirk's hair is a big part of her former pageant queen image

Like most people, Erika Kirk has had her fair share of bad hair days. However, what sets Kirk apart is that her public image is so closely connected with her styling mishaps. We know that Erika Kirk has made more than a few makeup mistakes, and her hair extensions never look quite right, but her reluctance to abandon her pageant-ready beauty tips keep her looking tacky.

Kirk has claimed that her super long hair is all natural — to our disbelief. "People think my hair is fake. It is very real," Kirk said in a 2025 interview on "The Megyn Kelly Show," going on to reference her late husband, Charlie Kirk: "I will never have hair shorter than my shoulder. Charlie loved my hair."

But in March 2026, we spoke to personal stylist Cynthia Kennedy, who exclusively told us that the key to fixing Erika Kirk's dramatic beauty looks is for Kirk to refine her hairstyles and experiment with shorter hair. "Long, blond extensions aren't bad in themselves, but if they're always very big and overly done, they fall into that pageant arena," Kennedy told Glam. "A little shorter length, more natural movement, or just less fullness would immediately make her look more modern ... even keeping the length but making the style softer would make a big difference."
