Sofía Vergara Doesn't 'Need A Husband' After Her Divorce But Isn't Counting It Out, Either

In a modern sea of celebs where individuality is a rare commodity, Sofía Vergara is delightfully specific. Between the mermaid bodycons, the cheeky accent, and her playfulness, Vergara has that old-school charm that appeals to women and men alike. A stunner since the '90s, there are times Sofía Vergara went makeup-free and looked flawless. That's all to say, what Sofía wants, Sofía probably gets, and she told the Daily Mail in a February 2024 interview that she wanted a husband. Vergara spoke about her full life and lifelong friendships, adding, "Now I need a husband. No, I don't need a husband. I want one. It doesn't even have to be a husband. A partner," she said. She also shared that she wasn't on the dating apps at the time, but said, "I'm open to having fun and meeting people."

The "Griselda" star split from ex-husband actor Joe Manganiello in 2023, and the pair finalized their divorce in 2024 after nearly nine years of marriage. Vergara told El País in a January 2024 Q&A, "My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn't want to be an old mom. I feel like it's not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that's not for me anymore." Vergara has one son whom she had when she was 19, but other celebs, like Rachael Ray, unapologetically chose not to have kids, and we love the honesty.

Sofía Vergara may be well on her way to settling down with a partner. In May 2025, she was spotted in the South of France during the Cannes Film Festival with entrepreneur Douglas Chabbott, cozy and hamming it up for the paparazzi. Neither Vergara nor Chabbott have outright confirmed the relationship publicly, as of this writing. Chabbott's Instagram account is private, but she's posted him several times across social media, strongly hinting at a romantic relationship and further fueling the rumors. 

As recently as March 12, 2026, Vergara posted a cute pic of the two seemingly out to dinner, him casual in a suede jacket and her in a floral dress. The caption read, "La Night" with a heart emoji. Whether she and Chabbott are endgame is yet to be seen, but considering the stunning style transformation of Sofía Vergara, we think she'll be able to navigate whichever turns her love life takes.
