The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2026 BAFTA TV Awards

Just when you thought the major awards shows of the year were done until the Emmys in September, the BAFTA TV Awards have snuck in to throw a few more trophies at worthy British-produced shows. So while we've already clocked the worst-dressed celebs of the 2025-2026 awards season, we have some late entries from the BAFTA TV Awards to add in.

Overall, the event, held May 10, 2026, at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England, saw some lovely looks on the red carpet. Like the recent best-dressed women over 40 at the 2026 Met Gala, there were some gorgeous black gowns, a handful of naked dresses that were done tastefully, and a few tastemakers that wore androgynous pantsuits to perfection. But there were also a few fashion fails, as seen below. Women like Christine McGuinness and Paloma Faith missed the mark with ill-fitting 'fits, ones that felt inappropriately casual for the occasion, and a few that were downright hard to look at.

Christine McGuinness' cups runneth over at the BAFTA TV Awards

TV personality Christine McGuinness attended the awards show in a look that had critics commenting, and not in very flattering terms. "At what point did she think that dress looked nice?" was one comment beneath a write-up on the look from The Sun. Meanwhile, someone else wrote, "She looks awful. Out of all the dresses she could have [chosen]." The outfit wasn't a dress at all, which may explain why it looked a bit off. The House of Alvin corset, which was way too snug, wasn't even made by the same designer who did the skirt (Sydney Lane).

Paloma Faith's interpretation of Napoleon chic debuted at the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards

Paloma Faith may have sung "Only Love Can Hurt Like This," but this outfit hurt our style souls. We're all for a statement-making hat, but this Napoleonic number didn't deliver, not to mention how annoying it would've been to those seated around her. "I pitied the person sitting behind her!" wrote one Facebook user. Others gave their thumbs up to the dress at least, but frankly, who even noticed it with that headwear overtaking every other element of her look?

Jessie Wallace was too casual for the BAFTA red carpet

There's red carpet glamour and then there's this. For the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards, "EastEnders" actor Jessie Wallace opted for an outfit taken out of Kris Jenner's brunch-with-the-kids stylebook. The look could have possibly tipped into appropriate territory if she had switched up the jewelry. The colorful necklace made this already-underdressed outfit seem even more so; if she had worn an extravagant statement piece — the kind that comes with a security guard — it could have elevated the look for the TV Awards red carpet.

Cat Burns looked cute ... for something other than the BAFTA TV Awards

Singer/songwriter Cat Burns has hit the British music scene in recent years with her soulful voice and thought-provoking lyrics, which she put on display performing at the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards. The star, who was also part of "The Celebrity Traitors" (U.K.) cast, arrived in a minimalist look that failed to deliver due to its overly casual vibe. There's an unspoken dress code for the red carpet that expects attendees to show respect by dressing up for the occasion.

Olivia Bowen was spilling out of her Regencycore outfit

Whether it's due to "Wuthering Heights" or "Bridgerton," Regencycore is a royally fun fashion trend that many are still embracing in 2026. But there's a right way and a wrong way to wear it, and British reality TV star Olivia Bowen fits the latter. For the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards, she wore a white corset style that pinched in all the wrong places. The reason we're drawn to the decolleté of "Bridgerton" stars is because that silhouette has a softness to it; this 'fit radiates discomfort and Bowen's face shows it.

Amanda Holden's showgirl aesthetic wasn't a win at the BAFTA TV Awards

Just in case anyone was unsure, "Britain's Got Talent" judge Amanda Holden looks fit, and she wanted to put an exclamation point on the fact at the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards. However, this look is a bit too Vegas showgirl for an awards show. Sometimes practicing a bit of restraint is the best way to show off good taste. Though plenty praised Holden's dopamine dressing, others weren't impressed: "Amanda, please grow up gracefully," wrote one Instagram critic.

Hannah Lowther's ill-fitting dress didn't wow at the BAFTA TV Awards

Actor and TikToker Hannah Lowther's BAFTA TV Awards dress looked like something she plucked off the rack a few days before the event. The dress, whose neck scarf gave it bridesmaid vibes, didn't look tailored to her body. Plus, the color felt passé. In 2025, Kelly green was the vivid color replacing butter yellow in all of our outfits, which means pastel yellow has been melting into the background for a while now, making it outdated on this 2026 red carpet.
