The Second Beyoncé Look You May Have Missed At The 2026 Met Gala

We're still thinking about the 2026 Met Gala. This year's soirée gave us a lot to mull over in the fashion department and we're still feeling so inspired. For starters, there were so many celebs who nailed the 2026 Met Gala theme and looked like walking art. While in previous years, some celebrities missed the mark at the event, this year, so many took the "Fashion Is Art" attire regulations and really rolled with it. You may have missed the sweet hidden detail in Blake Lively's 2026 Met Gala look or Beyoncé's bombshell of a second look that was entirely different from her initial red carpet outfit.

The 2026 Met Gala marked a triumphant return for Beyoncé, as it was her first appearance at the event since 2016. As part of her epic comeback, she was also co-chair of the event alongside Anna Wintour, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams. You can tell she wanted to leave a lasting impression. While Beyoncé walked the carpet in a breathtaking silver number, her second "secret" look worn inside the museum was designed by Robert Wun. It arguably left even more of an impression than her first. The black and gold beaded mermaid-style gown was complete with a crystal beaded veil that left us totally speechless. According to People, Wun even coined it "The Stargaze Gown" since it was designed to look like a city view at night from an airplane. This look is intricate, makes a statement, and is so incredibly flattering. And, it was perfectly on-theme for this year's gala. Beyoncé truly looks like walking art.

Beyoncé's first 2026 Met Gala look was just as stunning

Both Beyoncé's first and second looks are now fully on our list of the most memorable Met Gala looks in the fashion hall of fame. The look that she initially wore on the carpet was a masterclass in human anatomy, but make it fashion. Boasting a skeleton-themed design, an elaborate crystal headdress, and fur overcoat, it's safe to say she went all out. According to Vogue, Beyoncé worked closely with her stylist Ty Hunter to craft two equally gorgeous (and completely different!) looks. Vogue also reported that Beyoncé shared a bit more on the carpet livestream about this look. "It's designed by Olivier Rousteing, somebody who has been so loyal to me, and I've done so many iconic looks with him," she said.

Hundreds of crystals later, Rousteing also shared a little more about his close relationship with Beyoncé in a touching Instagram post featuring the gown. "What a journey — more than just a project, it's been a true collaboration with my muse, the one who has always supported me and been there by my side," he wrote in the caption. "An incredible two months of collaboration, creating a moment that will go down in history. Thank you for your generosity, thank you for your loyalty, and thank you for always bringing passion into our world."
