Christina Haack Is A Huge Fan Of This Millennial Nail Trend & These Pics Prove It

Real estate agent and television star Christina Haack has transformed since her breakthrough in 2013 with the HGTV series "Flip or Flop." Of course, with over a decade in the spotlight, we got to see Haack go through a divorce from fellow HGTV star Tarek El Moussa, befriend her ex-husband's new wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, and embrace numerous fashion and beauty trends. There's no doubt that Christina Haack's hair and makeup in her first HGTV appearance were super different from now. This goes to show that Haack keeps with the trends and evolves constantly. Still, one thing that the reality star seems to be fond of is millennial nails.

A quick scroll through her Instagram profile showcases that when it comes to her go-to manicure, Haack almost always chooses almond-shaped charcoal black nails. The internet has dubbed black nails as the ultimate cool-girl choice, as they are said to exude confidence. "I feel that a beautifully painted black manicure is extremely chic," manicurist Gerry Holford explained to HuffPost in 2014. "It takes a lot of confidence to wear a black manicure, and for most women that do wear one, it's their signature look." While black nails were a major trend in the late '90s and early aughts, for Haack, they are a timeless look. If you're considering taking a page from the HGTV star's book and exploring the dark, be sure to be familiar with all the chic ways to wear black nail polish.

When her nails aren't black, Christina Haack goes for yet another Y2K staple

While Christina Haack rocks a black manicure way more than your average celebrity, the HGTV star is fond of yet another millennial nail staple — the classic French manicure. Haack usually wears the white tips on long nails, pairing them with a milky base, a look we often see featured on her Instagram. While the popular manicure choice didn't originate in the 2000s, it was a popular choice in that decade.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in 2022, celebrity nail artist Natalie Minerva explained, "The French manicure has always been a go-to since its debut from Jeff Pink in 1978, but now with modern nail technology, you can tailor it to your own style and taste." The manicurist, who also worked on the HBO hit series "Euphoria," added that the style is nostalgic for many. "The Y2K 'movement' has seen an uptick in beauty because [...] people love feeling nostalgic," she said.

Whether she goes for edgy black nails or delicate French tips, Haack tends to rock simple manicures today. However, a decade ago, the budding star was much more willing to have fun with her nails. In 2015, she shared a photo of her nails on Instagram, and it was quite different. At the time, Haack's manicure was shorter, black, and featured two sparkly statement nails. Who knows, perhaps the "Flip or Flop" star ends up bringing this look back in the future, too!
