Brady Bunch Star Maureen McCormick's Beauty Evolution, In Photos

If a TV series even gets greenlit, it's among the super lucky ones. And then you have shows like "The Brady Bunch" that manage to accomplish a near-impossible feat and got embedded into the fabric of American culture forever. From the Baby Boomers to the '90s kids who stayed up late to watch Nick at Nite, and beyond, viewers have been watching Maureen McCormick bounce across their screens as Marcia Brady for many, many decades now. Beyond her legendary role, McCormick has continued to sing and act, popping up in TV movies and guest-starring on other hit shows like "Moesha" and "Scrubs." 

Since she's been in the spotlight for so long, fans have also gotten to see McCormick's beauty looks evolve as the years have ticked on — notably, we've seen the actor make some fun changes to those iconic blond tresses. Her hair has been long and straight, chopped and wavy, and everything in between. She's also hopped on the makeup trends of each era, too, hitting us with dark, dramatic lips in the late '90s and strong brows in the 2010s. She's definitely a timeless fashion icon.

"The Brady Bunch" premiered in 1969 when Maureen McCormick was just 13 years old. In the photo on the left, snapped in 1972, she posed for a press portrait showcasing her long, bone-straight hair in a natural teddy bear brown color. Easy, no-fuss locks are among the hairstyles straight from the '70s that are making a comeback, so we're here for it. The right photo was also taken in 1972. For this pic, she'd added a bit of subtle wave to her hair without sacrificing that hippie-era breeziness. 

Photos caught Maureen McCormick out and about in 1977, rocking revamped hair while hanging with Chris Mancini — musician and son of composer Henry Mancini. "The Brady Bunch" had aired its last episode by then, and, perhaps, looking to shed her Marcia Brady image and step into the next chapter of her career, she'd taken scissors to those iconic, lengthy locks. Around then, she was rocking a blunt, heavily highlighted long bob. McCormick's look read more mature, but the barely-there makeup still kept things feeling easy and cool. 

By the time 1985 rolled around, Maureen McCormick was still rocking shorter hair. The actor was photographed while outside the Hotel St. Moritz in Midtown, New York City, sporting an impossibly chic-looking long bob. The voluminous, softly layered haircut captured the vibe of the '80s in an understated way, and it looks like it had tons of movement. We can only imagine the ends grazing the star's clavicle as she strutted around the Big Apple.

Maureen McCormick attended the ninth annual Billboard Music Awards at Las Vegas in December 1997, looking like a legit '90s pop star. The star wore her two-toned hair in a funky, punk-rock updo complete with pieces messily left out, absolutely nailing the carefree attitude. And, of course, we can't forget about the trendy makeup. McCormick opted for a matte look punctuated by dark plum-colored lips and a cool, powdery base — just a couple of '90s makeup trends we're hoping make a comeback.

The wavy bob with side-swept front fringe is one of the hairstyles that completely dominated the 2000s, and for good reason. It works on many ages, hair types, and face shapes. That's exactly the look Maureen McCormick chose to wear when she swung by the fifth annual TV Land Awards in Santa Monica in April 2007. The blond was back in full effect with McCormick sporting a neutral sandy tone. We appreciate the dramatic eye makeup moment, albeit the black eyeliner was a bit too harsh on her. Her clay-colored gloss looked amazing, though.

Maureen McCormick looked polished and luminous when she popped out for a CVS Pharmacy beauty event celebrating the Golden Globes in Los Angeles back in January 2010. Her blond 'do had grown out to an always-fitting medium length, and it looked put together with its classic side part and bouncy barrel curls. Her soft glam makeup struck the perfect balance between understated and impactful. We're looking at beautifully strong brows, peachy blush, and ultra shiny coral lip gloss. 

Maureen McCormick has advocated for mental health disorders for years. She wrote about her struggles with addiction, depression, and disordered eating in her memoir "Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice." It makes perfect sense that she became an embassador to these conditions. In the left photo, taken at the WebMD Health Hero Awards in New York City in November 2016, McCormick wore her locks pulled back into a low bun. That same month, she rocked an elegant low ponytail at the ACLU SoCal Bill of Rights Dinner in Beverly Hills. Both looks emphasized McCormick's glowing skin.

In August 2018, Maureen McCormick attended the Season 4 premiere of A&E's "Born This Way," a now-wrapped show that followed the lives of young people with Down syndrome. McCormick works closely with the Special Olympics and other similar organizations that focus on intellectual disabilities, so it makes sense that she attended happily. For this event, the "Teen Angel" star styled her sunflower blond lob in beachy waves. We're also loving her super modern choice of bold brows and matte makeup.

There's no doubt that Maureen McCormick and the other "The Brady Bunch" leading ladies look great right now. In a delightfully full-circle moment, McCormick showed up to the premiere of "Millennials Are Killing Musicals" in Burbank, California, in May 2026, looking like she'd stepped right out of the '70s, but way more stylish. Her makeup was light — just eyeliner and a little rosy blush — and her hair had been warmed up to a natural-looking bronde. McCormick parted it in the dead center, just like Marcia Brady would. Only this time, it was to showcase subtle curtain bangs.
