The Cheeky Way Rumer Willis' Daughter Louetta Got Her Name
We'll always be the first ones to say that Demi Moore's daughters are absolutely gorgeous. Lately, in particular, we've noticed the complete transformation of Rumer Willis, who now also has a beautiful daughter named Louetta. You can tell by simply perusing Willis's Instagram page that she loves her daughter more than anything. The two are basically inseparable, and in 2022, Willis shared a sweet story with People about how her daughter's name really came to be. Funnily enough, it was an accident! "We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo. Her dad and I were texting, and he left the 'R' out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta," she explained. It seems like the texting error turned out to be kismet. "I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy," the actor added.
While she did initially have a bit of doubt about whether it was the right name for her daughter, after some thought, she loved how versatile the name was. It gave plenty of opportunities for cute nicknames. A few included "Lou" or "Etta." She also figured her daughter could go by one of these nicknames if she ended up disliking the name later in life.
Rumer Willis is passionate about being a mom
Rumer Willis posts sweet snaps with her daughter constantly on Instagram, so it's easy to tell that she loves being a mother. "There's just something about becoming a mom ... I have this kind of 'I can do anything' [attitude now]," she told "The Today Show" in a 2024 interview. She also later told People in 2024 that giving birth was one of the most validating experiences of her life. "As soon as I had her, it was like everything really clicked into place," she added. "It was exactly what I thought it would be. It also gave me a gift of knowing to trust my own intuition about what is right for me. I've never been happier in my life that I have this tiny little niblet."
The actor has also been very open about her split from Louetta's father in 2024 and even spoke on Instagram about what it's like being a single mom. In a May 2026 Instagram post, she expressed that no matter the circumstances, she's still grateful for every moment with her daughter. "There is nothing I would not do, no amount of sleep I would not lose, no length I would not go or discomfort I would not carry to keep her safe and bring her joy. What a gift and privilege to carry the weight of motherhood in all its many forms," she said in the caption.
