'You're Never Too Old': Jane Seymour Doesn't Buy Into The Myth That Aging Ends Your Life

Former Bond girl Jane Seymour has something to say to those who think women should be afraid of aging. After all, the 75-year-old actor is just as stunning today as she was in the '70s and '80s. During a June 2026 interview with NewBeauty, Seymour said she wishes women would stop buying into the myth that there's an age limit to feeling beautiful and leading a full life. "I know a lot of people who say 'I'm too old to do this,' or 'I'm too old to do that.' You're never too old to do it," Seymour told the outlet. "You just have to listen to your body while you're doing it."

Society at large pushes anti-aging measures (be they skincare options or cosmetic procedures) on women of all ages, which can further the narrative that your life is over after you begin to visibly mature. However, older women like Seymour and fellow Hollywood icon Jane Fonda are reframing how they think of beauty as they age — providing a refreshing take on beauty, career growth, and wellness as a mature individual.

The "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" star expressed to NewBeauty that she's not only happy in her skin, but confident in her successful, still ongoing, acting career. "I'm working, I'm creating every day, and I feel I'm actually in my prime when it comes to my creativity — I have an enormous amount of energy," Seymour said. "I think that aging is actually a privilege, and it's a very joyful time because you are free to be anything you want to be. There are no rules!"

Jane Seymour has discussed her take on beauty and wellness as an older woman

Jane Seymour is just as candid about her approach to health, wellness, and beauty as she is about the stigma society places on older women. In a June 2026 interview with Page Six, the "Harry Wild" star explained that she's avoiding cosmetic procedures in favor of aging naturally — something that has been important for her work. "I've been playing a lot of older women, and the truth is ... the kind of acting that I do is not about glamour," Seymour said. "It's more about serious emotion, and for real authentic emotion, you need every muscle to work." However, just because Seymour avoids cosmetic procedures doesn't mean she neglects her beauty routine as a whole; in fact, the opposite is true.

We know that Jane Seymour uses the old-school cold-teaspoon beauty trick for a well-rested appearance, but the actor has plenty of other tips in her repertoire. Seymour revealed to Women's Wear Daily in 2018 that her beauty routine is a combination of holistic internal and external elements. She is rigid about her cleansing and sunscreen routine, never sleeps in makeup, and has one more absolute no-go when it comes to a surprising way people are aging their skin. "[I] don't smoke cigarettes," she said, "no matter how expensive your creams or how many treatments you get, you can't offset smoking."

The actor has also made it a point to avoid eyelash and hair extensions and, above all else, prioritizes a clean, healthy diet. If there's one thing you take from Seymour's philosophy on beauty, life, and fulfillment as a mature woman, it should be that overall health and happiness are paramount.
