HGTV Star Jenn Todryk Called A 'Pause' On Her Hit TV Show To Focus On Being A Mom

It's no secret that being a parent comes with its share of sacrifices. Former HGTV star Jenn Todryk  stepped away from her show "No Demo Reno" after three seasons to be more present for her family. "I would get home from filming and I felt like I wasn't being my most energetic mom when I was in the moment with them," the mother of three explained to People in 2026, noting that her husband Mike was doing more than his share. Like actor Jennifer Garner, balancing a showbiz career and motherhood required Todryk to set firm time restrictions while filming Season 3. However, the star found herself still struggling to juggle it all, before she realized, "You know what? I can say pause."

On her Instagram Story (via People), Todryk also shared a photo of one of her children holding on to her leg while she was filming during the last season of the show. "I do think I chose to walk away at the perfect time," she wrote. "I didn't want my kids to spend their childhood on a 'set,' I didn't want their home and safe space to feel like a set or be at home while I was away."

Jenn Todryk has found a way to include her family in her new line of work

These days Jenn Todryk has stepped into full-time content creation, including tons of funny short videos and a podcast that she co-hosts with her husband. Her children and husband frequently participate in her social media content, which includes a number of skits and challenges. "I get to do my really fun thing, which is show up on social media, make my community and do whatever the heck I want and be weird as all get out," Todryk told People in June 2026. In addition to her entertaining Instagram posts, the TV host, who has over 1.9 million Instagram followers, regularly puts out "You, Me & Mike" podcast episodes, where she and husband Mike exchange commentary on a variety of topics. Todryk also writes blog posts on her website, The Rambling Redhead.

Back in 2016, she published a post about finding identity outside of motherhood. "It killed me to have these thoughts, my babies should be enough, and they were enough for my heart, but my mind needed something else," she admitted. "For my ever lovin' sanity, I needed more to my identity." While back then she was seeking an opportunity to get out of the house, as her family grew, she felt called back home. It goes to show that when it comes to dealing with overwhelming parental guilt, sometimes there's no one single right solution. Todryk found that initially filling her cup with a career, and later choosing to spend more time with the kids, were both the right moves in different seasons of her life.
