As the daughter of music legend Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, Alexa Ray Joel was always destined for a life in the spotlight. But while Alexa Ray opted for a career in music, her beauty shows she could easily have followed in her mother's footsteps. Back in 2014, Alexa Ray's appearance was a topic of discussion, as many believed the star had undergone numerous plastic surgeries. Setting the record straight, the singer shared that she had undergone only one procedure. "The continuously circulating rumors that I have had extensive 'face-work' and undergone breast augmentation surgery is simply and entirely 100% false," Alexa Ray wrote on social media (via ABC News). "The only thing I have ever had done is my nose, which I have always been completely candid, honest, and open about." With the transparency, she joined a long list of celebrities who have opened up about their plastic surgery experience. Alexa Ray also acknowledged that her makeup and growing confidence played a big role in her appearance, giving her makeup artist, Caitlin Monahan, a shoutout. "I actually have a hearty dose of self-confidence now," she added.

While Christie Brinkley can easily join our list of OG supermodels you probably won't recognize today, her daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, admitted that growing up with an absolutely stunning mother wasn't always easy. "I was so insecure about it when I was a teenager," she admitted in 2010 (via ABC News). "I was like, 'I'm just the weird brunette girl, don't look at me, you'll look at Mom anyways.' I was a really late bloomer. And so I didn't feel pretty or anything until, maybe like 20." The singer added that she became more appreciative of her appearance when she experienced her first love.

While Alexa Ray hated the comparisons to her mother, the truth is that many found her beauty just as fascinating. "She is so much more exotic looking than her mom ... Let's hear it for individuality and unique beauties," a netizen wrote on Reddit, with another chiming in, "Right? Like Christy is undoubtedly beautiful. But I feel like I can find 100 other girls who look exactly like her on the street. Alexa? She's a one of a kind, memorable beauty."

Needless to say, both are absolutely stunning today, and it's not surprising when supermodels have beautiful children. Another great example is Brooke Shields, whose daughter Grier Henchy has also grown up to be gorgeous.
