Today, the star is best known for her long, layered blond locks, but the truth is that her natural hair color and texture are rather different from her signature look. In fact, the "Horrible Bosses" actor is easily among the celebs who are nearly unrecognizable with their natural hair color, as we've gotten so used to seeing Aniston with sun-kissed blond hair. In a video promoting her haircare brand LolaVie posted on her Instagram in January 2026, the actor responded to the question of whether she would ever dye her hair brown. "Would I ever go brunette? I am brunette," Aniston revealed, adding that she would absolutely go back to her natural color.

As far as her natural hair texture goes, in November 2019, hairstylist Chris McMillan shared a snapshot of Aniston rocking beachy waves to a red carpet event, revealing in the Instagram caption that he actually used the actor's natural hair texture for the look. "The hair is Jen's natural curl and waves," McMillan wrote, adding some details regarding treatment: "Dried natural and touched up minimally with blow drying the roots for direction and touching up random pieces with a wave iron." Speaking to Glamour in the same year, Aniston admitted her preference regarding her own hair. "I love my hair when it's straight," the actor shared, adding that she only noticed she had curls when she cut her hair shorter as a younger girl.

We can't talk about Jennifer Aniston's hair without mentioning the haircut that is still among the most popular choices for women, even more than three decades after the star initially rocked it. The Rachel is the most iconic haircut of all time. This hairstyle has turned into a timeless cut in which women of many hair textures look great. Named after Rachel Green, Aniston's character on "Friends," the cut is all about soft layers and face-framing pieces. While it can work on shorter and longer hair, it tends to look best on shoulder-length locks.

That's the most important part of asking for this haircut," Garren shared.

But while The Rachel lives on in the hall of fame of haircuts, Aniston wishes it wasn't the case. Back in 2011, the actor revealed that she actually doesn't like this '90s cut at all. "I love Chris [McMillian], and he's the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look," she told Allure (via CBS News). "How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I've ever seen."
