What '70s Star Jill St. John Looks Like Today

Although Jill St. John had a number of memorable acting roles in the '60s and '70s, including her claim-to-fame as the first American Bond girl in 1971's "Diamonds are Forever," where audiences got to experience the sweet-meets-saucy character with her era-appropriate big hair, sparkling eyes, and dimpled smile. St. John went on to marry fellow actor Robert Wagner in 1990, and in May 2026, he posted an Instagram tribute to her on their 36th wedding anniversary. In the pic (first posted in 2025) we can see what the '70s star looks like today, in her mid-80s: still bold, beautiful, and one of the red-haired celebs who will make you want to try the flaming-hot look.

Aside from her good looks, the legendary actor is also reportedly very smart, with a high IQ that saw her enroll at UCLA at age 15. She left soon after to sign with Universal Pictures, however, and her film career was born. She would star in a number of roles until her turn in the Bond franchise, for which she's still associated today. "In my opinion, most gorgeous Bond girl," one fan wrote on Facebook in 2025. And judging by the recent photo of St. John shared by Wagner, not much has changed. 

There were many things people actually found attractive in the '70s that star Jill St. John wore so well, including pastel eye shadow and voluminous short hair. But looking back at pics of some of her outfits from the disco decade, we can see that she was a trendsetter in some of the original '70s fashion trends that are having a resurgence.

For example, fringe was a mainstay in her wardrobe. Circa 1970, St. John was photographed with diplomat Henry Kissinger at a party in Hollywood. She was wearing a fringe top; whether it's a poncho or a wrap, we can't tell, but the key part is visible, and that's the fringe hemline. Street-style stars are wearing fringe as accessories — on their bags, shoes, and earrings — as well as on their skirts, or as the hem of their tops, dresses, and jeans in the 2020s. 

Another prophetic stylish moment for St. John was in 1976, when she was snapped in LA wearing another staple from the '70s: a patterned skirt suit. Bold patterns and prints were big in that era, and they've dominated runways in the 2020s as well. The style set has gone pattern-crazy in the modern era, embracing animal prints, plaid, florals, artistic brush strokes, and bold stripes. Jill St. John may have left Hollywood decades ago, but her style is still enduring.
