Born between 1946 and 1964, baby boomers have shaped a lot of the world we live in today. When it comes to the entertainment industry, women born in the late '40s, '50s, and early '60s have helped break barriers and stereotypes and paved the way for generations to come. In the music industry in particular, that meant finding and owning your voice, showcasing your capabilities, and opening all the closed doors that women before them have faced.

Stars like Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, and Madonna have undeniably influenced the direction music evolved in, paving the way for some of the biggest pop stars of Gen X, millennials, and Gen Z. But while their time may have passed, that certainly doesn't mean that these baby boomer ladies are completely gone from the spotlight. In fact, many still create music, attend industry events, and most importantly, show us just how beautifully they have aged, all while never losing their youthful spark.

Cher rose to fame in the '60s as one half of the duo Sonny & Cher, and she has been an industry staple ever since. Known for always having fun with fashion, Cher, who turned 80 in 2026, is still all about experimenting with her look. "Life is about taking risks," the "Believe" singer told Vogue in 2022. "Make-up is an art form, and in art there should be no absolutes." Cher has had plenty of incredible looks over the years, with some of her '90s award show outfits still on our minds even decades later. No one will deny she's a true icon.

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks rose to fame with this iconic rock band in the '70s, and since then she has had a huge impact on beauty and fashion. In fact, her boho, witchy, and whimsical style often serves as inspiration to many. Even though Nicks turned 78 in 2026, she still loves to add magic to her look. Many throwback photos of Stevie Nicks highlight her iconic '70s style, and it certainly seems as if the "Dreams" singer is drawing inspiration from her old looks too.

While some of the baby boomer musicians have slowed down over the years, Madonna is among the musicians who keep rolling out new music. The "Like a Prayer" singer rose to fame in the '80s, but the decades don't stop her. At the age of 67 in 2026, she released her fifteenth studio album, "Confessions II." "People say I'm controversial," she famously said in 2016 (via Harper's Bazaar). "But I think the most controversial thing I have ever done is to stick around." Also known as the Godmother of Punk, Joan Jett rose to fame with The Runaways in the '70s, and ever since, she has been one of the most iconic women paving the way through the rock genre. She might be in her late 60s, but the "I Love Rock 'n Roll" singer still inspires many to embrace an edgier aesthetic.

"Girls Just Want to Have Fun" singer Cyndi Lauper has definitely given us some of the most iconic celeb outfits from the '80s that defined the era, and her 2020 style is just as fun. Speaking to Vogue in 2016, Lauper explained that she is still very fond of fun makeup looks, but that she has slightly toned them down with the years. "You can do any style of makeup if you're older, you just need to do it light. Too much makeup will make you look older," Lauper, who turned 73 in 2026, explained.

While Carole King was mostly known as a songwriter in the '60s, the musician had her singing breakthrough in the '70s with hits like "It's Too Late" and "I Feel the Earth Move." Nevertheless, King's well-known natural approach to beauty — consisting of minimal makeup and embracing her natural hair texture — is still her go-to. Queen of funk Chaka Khan rose to fame in the '70s with her band Rufus, but her career truly took off in the '80s after the singer decided to embark on a solo career. In this decade, Khan was a fan of skintight 'fits, bold colors, eye-catching makeup, and fun hair. Four decades later, not much has changed. Khan may have turned 73 in 2026, but at heart, she's still that fiery artist with incredible vocals who loves to have fun with her look.

Among the younger baby boomers on our list, Sheryl Crow rose to fame in the '90s. Known for her feel-good music, Crow was also the epitome of a laid-back girl next door, especially when it came to fashion — in fact, she still is. Speaking to New Beauty in 2022, Crow talked about ageism. "It's going to take a long time before people change their minds about what beauty is and how important older people are," she shared. With a career that kicked off in the '60s, Dolly Parton has certainly earned her title of the Queen of Country Music. Known for her signature blond hair and bold makeup, Parton, who turned 80 in 2026, has always ensured her on-stage persona is over the top and dramatic, a look she nourished for decades. Speaking to Allure in 2021, the "Jolene" singer shared that it's all about how you feel when it comes to beauty. "Do what makes you happy, because if you're happy and you're comfortable, people are going to be happy around you," she said.
