What Cagney & Lacey's Tyne Daly And Sharon Gless Look Like Now
There are so many TV and film stars that seem to get better with time. One show from days past that we constantly revisit, though, is "Cagney & Lacey." This groundbreaking CBS crime show was a major hit in the '80s for so many reasons. Over the years, the show earned praise for its portrayal of female detectives. It also focused on the strong bond between its female leads, which wasn't common for a crime show back then. If you've been wondering what Mary Beth Lacey (played by Tyne Daly) and Christine Cagney (played by Sharon Gless) look like nowadays, we're happy to report that the two look just as fabulous as they did decades ago.

As you can see, Tyne Daly (pictured on the left in 2026) has swapped her short pixie cut (a game changer for women over 60) for a lob and she's joined the club of celebrities who proudly show off their gray hair. Sharon Gless (pictured on the right in 2024) still rocks her sleek blond short cut which really suits her.
Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless have remained close over the years
Over the years, Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless have done many interviews about their significant impact on television. Although it's been years since the show aired, the two have remained close and are still photographed together from time to time. In a joint interview with AARP, they talked about their friendship and how, at some point in time, the press tried to create a feud between them where there wasn't one. But much like Cagney and Lacey, their mutual respect and love for one another won over everything. "They just could not conceive of two people — especially actresses — sharing the limelight together and getting along," Gless said. "And we really loved each other." Daly also added, "After a while there was a determination that they wouldn't be able to divide and conquer. Some producers and some directors feel that's necessary to keep some kind of weird dramatic tension going."
It's nice to see that despite this, the pair still get along so well and are able to reminisce about filming the show in such a positive way. The above photo was taken in 2022, and they're both all smiles while looking better than ever.
